I truly cant get enough of John Butler! He is in my eyes the most talented musician to come during my being. Im 43 so i havent seen or heard it ALL but, much more than most. So much music is generated from those 3 men its almost stunning. John solo is about unbeatable period. Crazy when you like all kinnds of styles of music after all life wouldnt exist without it.

@doobieblunt way different styles, but you should check out Trace Bundy. He's known as the "acoustic ninja". He's kinda similar to old John Butler (think Ocean). Some of the stuff he can make his guitar do is amazing

This guy is incredible. There is no comparing this guy to Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, and even DMB. This guy is in a different class musically. His compositions are mind boggling. Just listen to his song "Ocean" and then ask yourself if any of the before mentioned could play guitar like that. His guitar skills are far beyond any of those guys.

@thesoulphysician it's definitely a stand up bass. cellos are about half that size. and 9 times out of ten cellos are played with bows. even tho you can play a bass with a bow it's more common to not use one.

They all communicate so well on stage. Notice how John sneaks back on stage at the very end of the drum solo. I saw John and Nicky Bomba live a few months ago and they can improvise together just by giving looks. They did a drum duet this way.
