Protestant Christianity is Worse than Catholicism

Surely you are aware that protestant is just a catch-all label for any christian denomination that's not catholic. Protestant denominations are vastly diverse and as different from each other as from catholicism. To make definitive statements about protestants is about as sweeping a generalization as it gets.

But I do agree that ALL Christianity is messed up. Debating which denomination is worse is like arguing who's pile of shit stinks the worst.

Protestants know that the unchosen, non-elect can no more repent or believe than an elephant can fly. God chooses who receives faith and who receives the Holy Spirit, and who is reborn. Protestants believe that God is sovereign in all things and works all things for the good of those who love God. Catholics think that man decides our fate.

The thing with Protestants is that they follow almost everything by the OLD testament, Catholics follow the NEW testament, it even says that Jesus said that he was "writing a new testament". Wether you are following those religions or not, it's something to know. Christ was here to FORGIVE, to REIMBURSE, God WAS angry, not now. That's what the new testament means, that's why it's controversial, Jesus said that anything in the old testament that went against what he said, should be overridden.

There's a very good argument to be made that Protestantism was a necessary step in the advancement to the Enlightenment. The individualism in Protestantism (salvation lies in oneself, and one has direct contact with God) was crucial in breaking the bond that Europe had with traditions and authoritarianism.
