@dude7422 I will keep that in mind haha- I have run out of money for hobbies but will be getting a different job soon. My current ones are the Robbe Roxxy 2824-34. Cost a pretty penny but I am happy as to their life so far :) Only thing I am currently hating is the life of my lipos. Trying some new ones now. any suggestions?
@hagfelsh The ESC died- there was beeping at the beginning of the video that should have been a huge warning for me... The ESC is what takes the output of the computer and turns it into the voltage going to the motor.
@dude7422 you are correct on the bl esc- I replaced with the official ones as I didn't feel like reprogramming them (this will change when I have to buy new ones though). I turned away from their motors as I am quite unhappy with them. Gone through 8 of them- different ones that were rated well for quads but the bearings never held up...
@Mongo400 What motors are you using? I'm waiting for some mystery 940kv's to show up in the mail. Have you looked up warthox on vimeo? His flying is amazing!
@hagfelsh I am currently using the Robbe Roxxy 2824-34 they were about $45 each after shipping. That video was taken when I had just installed some new motors on it I believe they were: KDA20-22L/4700 Those cost about $80 total with shipping but died quickly. Before that... I can't remember what they were but they were rated well for noise levels. I will definitely look him up! Thanks for the tip!
The crash actually helped the setup as I upgraded a ton after that. I am using the Mikrokopter v1.3 board, a panasonic lumix fx-37, 200mw 900mhz video downlink, and a spektrum 2.4ghz radio. I will see what I can do to get a video together, currently incredibly busy with school so it might take a little while.
Haha yeah... it was a very nice place. Next time I will have less shaking as a wire was loose on the quad for this flight (the reason it lost one of the motors) Parts will be in within 2 weeks so I will bring it back to locations like this, and next time... I will not crash :-p This crash did about $400 in damage :-D Not going to happen again. Although I am happy that I was able to capture a crash on video finally. Thanks for the comment!

Wow that's fast and bad!! What causes a motor to fail like that?

that was an awesome flight. Sorry for the crash lol. What type of setup are you running? Can you show us a video of the helicopter itself?
