Notre Dame always plays the other teams fight song during their pregame show, its a great tradition that all schools should follow. Although I can't stand fight on, I heard it too many times when my Irish plays USC cause you guys keep scoring!
I agree...I think it shows that ND is a respectful and classy university. I would love it if Bartner had us do the same at SC games.
Also, since I'm in the band and hear Fight On more than I'd ever admit, I think I know when it sounds good and the ND band did a great job...good luck next season and I cant wait to travel to South Bend in 2009
I work concession stands at the stadium towards the visitors side and i usually meet the opposing fans. counting all the games i have worked, the usc fans were the nicest fans i had met.
we had boston college the week before and they were the worst fans ever! i was expecting the same thing from the usc fans but ill say it again, they were really nice to us, probably because we beat ucla

Lots of university bands from the Midwest are known to play the opposing teams' songs as well.
Nice rendition of 'SC's fight song by the Notre Dame band.
