  • Buddy Holly had by far the best glasses ever!

  • @Meep4beaker

And now finally the youth have realised the awesomeness of such specs, and are wearing fake versions!

  • Deny the HOLLY ??

Are you ppl beyond the point of no return ???

Come back to the light of Rock n Roll

  • Great song, I love Cliff Richard'scover too!

  • Buddy mistakes at 00:59

  • Although a copy still sounds great . . . unlike all the copies of his originals that sound crap!!!

    Blue swede shoes...Hmmmmm!!!

  • Brilliant

  • Good version, but I prefer the Elvis version.

  • Rock N Roll

  • I don't hear Little Richard's influence AT ALL in "I Want to Hold Your Hand" or "She Loves You".... those don't sound like Little Richard songs at all! If anything, sounds more like Buddy Holly. Plus, John sang lead on those songs... everyone knows it was Paul who was the most influenced by Little Richard in his vocal stylings... not John. Anyway, Buddy Holly rules!

  • Buddy's rockin Hard on this track !!!

  • this is shit compared to little richard

  • @RIPxX2pac little richard is shit to Elvis

  • crank that shit

  • Buddy Holly was the best!

Many will disagree but it was this kind of music that may have inspired our current Hard Rock...

  • Love the blues?

    Check out

    The Mighty Q.C. 5

  • He's my cousin. We do not always reveal that our last name is Hardin. And of course account of John Wes' rep out there in tX. But actually the sire of our family line Col Joseph Hardin fought and aided in winning the Revolution and was a delegate to the first Congressional Congress in Philly. He rode a horse from NC to there. He was Captain of the Light Horse Cavalry and priorlly in charge of NC Militia. Received a battlefield commission to Colonel.

  • Lol I love it! The solo sounds like the ending of Oh Boy's solo. ;P

  • Elvis was a Heart throb Sex symbol who Labels payed to Butcher peoples songs in order to get all the little white girls panty's wet and sound good doing it. Facts mixed with a little of my opinion. Love it or Hate it. Oh yeah.... Covering a song, Re-making a song, Re-mixing a song, Revising a song, All are the same thing: Making money off of music that you did not create,,,Period. So fuck buddy Holly and all the other white artist that stole from blacks. And Fuck you too.

  • @DaBossOfDaGame So no black artist has ever covered a song? Quit being jealous. Frank Sinatra did many covers, that doesn't make him a bad singer.

  • @DaBossOfDaGame ....Well, that was a bit unneccesary in my opinion.

  • 14 people do not know a person named teddy

  • A real rocker!!!!!!

  • Gonna break out a Buddy Holly C.D real soon methinks

  • the best version ever-buddy rocks

  • wow!

  • does anybody dont give a shit about what these guys under me aar talking about?

    or its just me?

    PD. B .Holly u rocked!!

  • This music gets you to move even now, I can't how huge this must have sounded back then. People must have been like 'HOLY SHIT."

  • Where would rock and roll be today if Buddy Holly had not died?

  • Holly's rhythm is more striped -straighter definitely a historic step.

  • WHY ARE YOU GUYS TAlking about Elvis Enjoy THE ACTUAL KING.....BUDDY HOLLY! I Mean It Is a Buddy Holly Video!!

  • sound like Rip It Up.... Coincidence?

  • @Evileddiex123

early rock and rolls songs pretty much sounded the same. Different lyrics, a bit different backbeat and rhythm, but all of them had the same rock feel.

  • Racists like jamesjbd can't accept blacks being the fathers of rock. Pathetic losers.. Buddy, Elvis & Hank Williiams (see "tee tot song") had NO problem and glad to get the wake up call. Elvis told reporters in 1956, "The colored folks been performing it for more years than I know. I got it from them in Tupelo..I used to hear old *Arthur Crudup* bang his box the way I do now, and I said if I ever got to the place where I could feel all old Arthur felt, I'd be a music man like nobody ever saw."

  • @howlingsandy

Stop being an asshole and accept the fact that all Nationalities loved Rock and Roll stupid.

And yes Blacks were great at Rock and roll! What would they be singing had they stayed in Africa?

  • @Bandtrip50 chickenshit racist moron. you're deranged and clueless, blabbering toxic fart-talk. pathetic self-endangering FOOL..Clue:You're NOT anonymous to ME. End of discussion. Chump

and what they would be singing would like all else, be beyond your ability to understand.

  • @howlingsandy

I'm not a racist and you are the moron! Do you howl when you take a huge dump? Jerk.

  • @howlingsandy ELVIS meant what he said about Crudup.

  • @Xxmusic4life1xX you don't like it because it's called real music..and not some crap about a hoe getting bitch slapped or having a cap popped in her ass.......or is it because it's not justin beiber?

  • @Xxmusic4life1xX listen to hendrix and cream

  • @Xxmusic4life1xX This is the original stuff right here. I'm sorry you don't like it but it's always nice to try something new.

  • Little Richard :)

  • Wow, that guy can enunciate! I always wondered what the actual lyrics to that song were.

  • Opinions are like your kids pictures. No we don't want to see them.

  • @Enterthedeath

    very well said.

  • buddy holly king

  • didnt little richard make this song?

  • Hi there danrtopp

I can't agree, sorry...I like this version as much as Little Richard's.

    Holly was an amazing talent.

    Best wishes

  • This Version Is Not As Good Is Elvis Presley's

  • I love Buddy Holly and I think this is my favorite song sung by him, his voice is so rock and roll!! Love it!

  • alex fuck off you aint got a clue bill haley is the father of rock n roll buddy holly is an awesome bloke and pisses over elvis ... he didnt piss on gene vincent or eddie cochran get yourself a few records of gene and eddies songs ..have a listen elvis way behind eddie way behind gene and way behind charles harding holly

  • @chonches it hardin not harding

  • john lennon loved Chares Harding Holly...

  • This song is the best representation of Buddy's "rock and roll voice". I don't know how an operatic singer would catagorize Holly's voice, but it definitely was capable of ripping it up, and emoting tenderness (Everyday, etc). John Lennon had that too - not something you can say about most singers. Holly, IMHO, was not a vocal God, but in "versatility" he could do all ranges exceptionally.

  • @ocduff When the Rock n Roll era began the myth that everybody needed to have a operatic range to be successful in music was gone forever. Many of the pre-Rock era performers never had operatic ranges and were successful as well. I do believe that you should have to be able to sing to be considered a singer. Rappers don't make the grade and any so-called accomplishments in the recording industry by them mean absolutely nothing.

  • Buddy wrote an unbelievable wealth of material in his short career. He was innovative in arranging, producing, recording effects, and supporting black artists and African American music. He stood up for them , he credited them, and he was an original all-American great. He and the Burnette brothers were some of the only musicians and performers writing their own stuff.

  • Does anyone know what happened to the rest of the Cricketts? Are they still living? If so, what are they doing now?

  • @ConservativeInk really man they are probably all dead

  • elvis had buddy on swinging his hips and longevity. after that its not even close

  • I love Elvis and Buddy. Both are great, in my opinion.

  • buddy holly was good. but no one does little richard's music better than little richard.

  • BaaloSouls said: all he did was rip off prominent african american blues artist

    _________________________________________________________________

By covering those American blues artists' material he made the songs hits and the blues songwriters got the writing royalties and in many cases helped them get live performing gigs that paid well. Without Elvis they would have receiived NOTHING.

  • Look...if you're a singer, like I am - you'll know that Buddy had a physical vocal gift - this guttural voice is not an easy thing to achieve, especially when you hear that he could be strong vocall with softer material. Go listen to "Everyday". God, you have to be a musician to appreciate Buddy, damn it...he could friggin' ROCK and he could sing sweetly, but strongly. People, this was a kid, with no blueprint - he just did what he DID for the fun of it. Try emoting more with 5 chords...

  • I can't see how anyone would think Holly's version is superior to Elvis'.

    Elvis' version just destroys this.

  • Without Arthur 'Big Boy' Crudup Father of Rock & Roll, Elvis good as he got, would be driving a truck, and maybe on Grand Ol' Opry. WIthout Elvis covering and making hit of THREE Arthur Crudup songs (his admitted idol) Crudup's music referred and faithfully covered would not have opened white market doors for Chuck Berry or Little Richard. Our national (musical) shame is that Crudup's never been inducted into the Rock Hall nor EVER got even ONE royalty for his blues classics covered by EVERYBODY

  • @howlingsandy I play on Beale Street in Memphis every week and am shocked at how many "Elvis fans" don't know who Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup is. Sure, Elvis is the king of Rock 'n' Roll in the marketplace (and I'm not questioning his extraordinary talent) but he didn't do his own material. He was cruisin' on a road paved by the music of many others.

  • @bootlegpreacher Elvis told reporters in 1956, "The colored folks been (performing) it for more years than I know. I got it from them. In Tupelo I used to hear old Arthur Crudup bang his box the way I do now. and I said if I ever got to the place where I could feel all old Arthur felt, I'd be a music man like nobody ever saw." Arthur's songs were done by Etta James, Jimi, Muddy, Elton, Rod Stewart, Johnny Winter, Paul Butterfield, Tina Turner, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Canned Heat, Creedence, BB King

  • @howlingsandy The only people that can tell you about people like Big Boy Crudup is blues freaks, and people that know about history. Most people wouldn't know whom Peter Salem ,and Crispus Attucks are. That is America for you.

  • @howlingsandy: A,Crudup was not the father of R-n-R, he was a blues artist. If you listen closely to Elvis' covers, you will hear that chords, tempos and in some, lyrics were changed to a rock sound. And Elvis' biggest hits were those written by two WHITE MEN, Leiber&Stoller, and even in those songs Elvis&Moore changed chords, tempos and in some lyrics.

  • @howlingsandy: In addition, Most covers byElvis&Moore were re-arranged. And you can bet your ass Elvis paid royalties to everyone! That's of record numnuts! And Elvis had many influences in music, from country to blues, boogie woogie and gospel artists. So quit spewing your BS. Thanks..

  • @jamesjdb you're completely wrong on every delusional matter you uttered. EARLY Elvis was an Arthur Crudup coverer, as faithfully as he could be. Less soul No changes No way No royalties EVER. Elvis to reporters '56, "The colored folks been (performing) it for more years than I know. I got it from them. In Tupelo I used to hear old Arthur Crudup bang his box the way I do now. and I said if I ever got to the place where I could feel all old Arthur felt, I'd be a music man like nobody ever saw."

  • @howlingsandy You speak the truth, No Elvis? No Beatles. No Beatles? No George Thorogood. No George Thorogood ? No Mojo Nixon. You do the math.

  • @MrBeautifulba1 To do the math, you need all the numbers or your answer will be wrong! Elvis may had been the king. But "Good Rockin' Tonight" was originally recorded in 1947 by Wynonie Harris. and the Elvis version was a watered down version. Gory Carter, T Bone Walker were among many rockers who inspired Little Richard and Chuck Berry long before Alan Freed even coined the word.

  • @littlemikey1954 Yes. Chuck Berry, Outlivin' the King of Rock. Outlivin' the King of Pop. Chuck Berry's The Father of Rock 'n' Roll.

  • @howlingsandy: As quoted by The Great Jackie Wilson, In his response to Elvis stole the black mans music::

I've never seen or heard a man that sounds, looks or dances like ELVIS! Neither White or Black. If anything, artists steal from Elvis. Jackie Wilson......

James Brown at the death of Elvis 1977: We lost a one of a kind soul brother. He was an original that will never be surpassed. RIP my brother.. James brown...

  • @jamesjdb Typical delusional elvis fan

  • @jamesjdb You can't tell these Beatles and Michael Jackson fans anything. The Beatles had a devout atheist as their leader and they still think there's nothing wrong with it. The other paid off a child in 1993 so he wouldn't talk to the authorities about Jackson molesting him. And before any of you say anything, Jackson wasn't acquited of the 92 allegations because he paid off his accuser. When they get off ELVIS' back we will get off their idol's backs.

  • @donn409 not that i am a fan of the beatles, but what is wrong with having an atheist as a leader?

  • @zcallen What's wrong with having a atheist as a leader? What if you found out your favorite singer was a killer or a rappist? Would you still support them basing what you know on just their talent? Having a talent should not give people a pass for crimes or hate speech.

  • @donn409 so ur saying there is a link from hate speech/crime/killing/raping with atheism? cuz last time i checked raping was a passtime for catholic priests

  • @zcallen Yes, there is a link. Look at the children that grow up without knowing God. They become violent, angry people. As far as the Catholic Church is concerned they are a very secretive organization with alot to answer for. I liken them to groups like the Free Masons.

  • @donn409 I certainly cannot defend all atheists from violent behavior, but catigorizing an entire people because of their beliefs is ignorant. from what ive experienced, theists are often the most violent people mostly because they fight over what ever their interpretaion of god is, and what his nature is. look at the current middle east, all of europes past, westboro baptist church, list goes on and on..i see no such examples of an organization of atheists that are intent on persocutingothers

  • @zcallen It looks like we're both categorizing an entire groups beliefs, my friend. I'm categorizing atheists and you're categorizing Christians and other religions. Atheists use organizations like the ACLU and our laws to ban Christianity from schools and other places.

  • @donn409 banning Christianity teachings from schools is a good thing

  • @zcallen Says you? Don't the majority have the final say on that?

  • @zcallen In what way? Teaching love and togetherness is a bad thing now?

  • @donn409 I find that so funny, so ... american ? In France nobody will say it's weird to have an atheist in a band, cause atheism is NORMAL in France. I'm glad to be an atheist living in France, eventhough I respect all the kinds of belief. For example I don't know if Buddy Holly is christian, but I don't care cause he's not responsable of all the bad things other atheists or christians did.

  • @donn409 <- "American Taliban"

  • @howlingsandy Who are you calling American Taliban? I know you aren't referring to me.

  • @donn409 be sure to tell same to Bocephus

  • @howlingsandy Bocephus was using his freedom of speech. He never called President Obama any kind of racist name. I voted for Obama and I recognize people's right to criticize him. He is not above criticism.

  • @donn409 Bocephus long has fronted as money raiser for 1 head of the double snakehead duopoly, partIES of institutionalized racism & world oppression of brown people (his Tee-Tot song is great/not racist). Obama fronts as same, his missions done too for the 0.01% ultra rich elite & their power handlers. Spare us ANY naive tunnel vision image of this (a k a tea-party trick#135 manipulation ploy) defining racism & privileged top media access speech "freedom" as so simple & equal in a real world

  • @howlingsandy What in the hell are you trying to insinuate?

  • @zcallen What's wrong with it you say? Lennon's beliefs reflect in his music. You cannot serve both God and atheism. Many Beatles fans were/are Christians. They need to know that the man they idolize was evil in his thinking and reject Lennon for his beliefs.

  • @donn409 wake urself up pal.. Yes MJ was a pedo, clear to anyone, like his music or not. But Elvis brought back a 14 year old girl from Germany (not quite a kiddie but.. forget about that?) and the other issues he had, pathetic and tragic. He (like MJ too) both incest survivors actually. And so much has been done all horrible evil in the name of Gawd it's not a belief that says shit, it's what one does and how, and of their own volition. "Devout Athiest"? I like that lol

  • @howlingsandy You are a full of unadulterated bullshit. Priscilla lived with ELVIS' parents and they didn't have a sexual relationship until they were married and she was of age. Priscilla said she wanted to sleep with ELVIS but he said no. As far as ELVIS and Jackson being incest survivors go, prove it. It's also never been proven that Jackson was a child molester.

  • @donn409 You are yet another weak and over-identified maroon who only goes to prove it's not just Egyptians that live by "Da Nile". I have better sources than you, including witnesses, and a hell of a deeper understanding of these matters. So don't waste your time here. SGS

  • @howlingsandy You understand nothing and know even less. By the way, learn how to spell. It's moron, not maroon.

  • Your deranged opinions of who you think "I" am are YOUR delusions stemming from anxiety over what YOU are or aren't (all unclear & worrisome to you) You lack integrity to see this from a clear center. Thus, though missing healthy shame, you carry & vent much of the toxic type, blind to how by now you bring it to yourself with each failed effort to escape it. But, it has to fail, because you need mental health counseling & courage to seek it. Blabbering maroonities (look it up) won't heal you.

  • @howlingsandy Your attempts at trying to be some sort of intellectual are hilarious. Say something else funny.

  • @howlingsandy Don't blame God for mankind's ills, blame mankind. God gave us free will. Unfortunately, some choose to do evil with their free will. You wake the hell up!

  • @donn409 Your blabbering is doing evil and you don't even see it. Don't waste my time. EOD! SGS

  • @howlingsandy You're the time waster my ignorant friend, not I. I am the truth.

  • @howlingsandy People like you make me sick.......Priscilla in her own autobiography said she did not have sex with Elvis before the age of 18. I guess people like you know more about it than the actual person who was there. And further moron, a pedophile is not a person who sleeps with an underage girl, it is a person who is sexually attracted to a BOY or girl before they have reached puberty, usualy of the same sex.. Thus MJ was a pedophile.

  • @nigelbruce232 YOU "weren't there," you read a book, if even all and maybe JUST one. I've been, in fact, a lot closer to connected sources than any book re my post. See: Hebephiles/ephebophiles. I'll pit my Ph.D specializing helping some overcome severe childhood abuse, court and 'other' battles against NAMBLA, contending with world-wide traffickers w/shootouts & arrests of child rapists abroad etc. against your naive denials. And you buckwheat are that moron whose label you love yammering.

  • @jamesjdb Elvis didn't "steal," he covered. When doing, tried doing it faithfully. Later, he claimed he "goosed it up" but that's more the image or gyrations, possibly volume, yet not intensity or soul (this regards his seminal hits, not later multi-genre stuff, some great.) One can play Arthur, then Elvis's covers and hear it, if open to what is. Elvis credited artists & writers - unlike "The Thieving Magpies" (Zep) who stole from 100's of black artists, only upon legal action would credit pay

  • @howlingsandy who are the steallers Zeppelin? i didnt get the last part and i am interested in it

  • @pravod yea, have you heard a song called stairway to heaven? led zeppelin stole that song from a band that had opened for them and other songs as well

  • @howlingsandy You´re wrong. The Father of Rock and Roll is Bill Haley that opened the doors for all rocker that came after him.

  • @howlingsandy Actually, ELVIS financed a Arthur Crudup recording session and gave him money because Crudup was one of his influences . Unfortunately, the public are who screwed Crudup. Crudup is long overdue for induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

  • @donn409 I know Arthur, played & corresponded with him, and did some portraits. Delmark, etc. labels & licensing powers ripped him off (never paid even ONE royalty) He didn't get enough advocacy from umpteen imitators. After promising they would give Arthur $60,000, record co. atty's came out their back office where 2 community activists had supposedly won him the award, late in his life, and said they'd lose less in court. It's possible his distant estate RECENTLY did well, at last.

  • @howlingsandy I wish that artists like Crudup weren't ripped off but it even happened to ELVIS throughout his career. A couple of years before his death Col. Parker sold the rights to ELVIS' recordings for a measly 5 million dollars. Three months after ELVIS' death RCA made more than $200 million dollars off of his recordings alone.

  • @donn409 There's a number of such overlooked highly influential artists, none perhaps more so than Arthur Crudup. Hubert Sumlin being another, but there's a long list after that., especially considering who has gotten inducted

  • @howlingsandy True, but Crudup should get major consideration because of his influence on ELVIS alone.

  • Comment removed

  • Elvis was and always will be the man. This is a great rockin version and Richerds was the best, but Elvis could cover any kind of music were as the others were limited. I could never picture Buddy trying to do Hurt or Suspicious Minds. All the guys from the early days were great, but Elvis lead the pack.

  • @craigschultz Elvis is fucking rip off artist. He never wrote a single hit in his hillbilly faggot lifetime. all he did was rip of prominent african american blues artist.

  • @BaalofSouls there's a reason why Elvis is and will always be the king of rock 'n' roll dont hate on him.....appreciate Elvis for what he was....he could take someone's song and make it better than the original...hands down!!!

  • @au05232003 so not true.not all of the remakes were good.but i guess thats a matter of taste.

  • @au05232003 hes the "king" and i use that term loosley, bc of popular opinion. It dsnt make him the "king". Music has and will always ber a matter of opinion. Some ppl will like certain music and some ppl wont. I personally do not like elvis. If u ask me the king of rock n roll is Buddy Holly. Elvis is a tool compared to most musicians.

  • @BaalofSouls Elvis is the King of Rock and Roll because he is the one who popularized it......he is the man who has sold more records than any other person in the history of entertainment....statistically there is nobody close to Elvis

  • @Jacobrester Im not so sure of that. I know buddy and his bandmates like elvis and were excited to meet him, but elvis putting buddy on the map? I dnt believe it. Buddy was a writer and a damn good one. He left the crickets to focus on his writing. But regardless of the truth, Buddy is and will always be the true king of rock and roll.

  • @BaalofSouls Buddy was a country musician until he saw Elvis perform in Lubbock Tx in 1955...he finally got the opportunity to meet Elvis and when he did he asked Elvis to help him sing Rock and Roll.....Elvis gave him Marty Robbins Mgr's personal business card and the rest is history.....Look it up.....Buddy Holly switched from country to rock because of Elvis.....and Im not sure why call Buddy the King of Rock n Roll when Elvis was around before and has sold more than anyone else in history

  • @Jacobrester enough of this debate. I am a guitarist and songwriter. I have zero respect for elvis simply bc he WROTE JUST A SINGLE TUNE "Heartbreak Hotel". Big deal. Buddy wrote everything he released save a few covers. Elvis stole or purchased all of his songs. True talent comes from songwriting ability AND performance ability working together. Anyone can be trained to sing, or even play guitar, but the true warriors of rock do both. They write AND perform there own music.

  • @BaalofSouls I enjoy Buddy's music.....but what i dont like from dumbasses like you is your need to belittle Elvis to make Buddy appear better.....Elvis was there from the beginning....Buddy wasnt.....Elvis popularized rock and roll.....buddy didnt....Elvis has morer hits than any other artist in the history of the industry......how many hits do you have ?....you must be a shitty artist and entertainer

  • @Jacobrester If you were here right now in front of me I'd beat ur fucking ass until i smashed ur face flat on the pavement. MUSIC IS OPINION AND ALWAYS WILL BE. SO fuck you and every ELVIS FAN. Buddy Holly destroys him. Lets pit elvis and holly in a guitar battle and see who wins. Music isnt about being famous and selling records faggot, its about the music. I know i hve crazy criteria for musicians I like, but I hold myself to the same standards. So if that makes me a shitty musician, so be it

  • @BaalofSouls: You really need to listen and watch Elvis dillweed! Although I love B.Holly and his contribution to RnR, he couldn't compare to the voice, charisma, stage presence and definitely the appearance of Elvis! Shit, who could back then? LOL!!! Although Elvis only co-wrote a few songs, his main expertise was producing and arranging. Not one cover Elvis&Moore ever did was exactly cloned. Chords, tempos and in some, lyrics were changed. Open your ears and especially your eyes!

  • @jamesjdb Nah. Hes the eminem of the 50's-60's. Took black muisc and was successful. I respect eminem more than elvis. Em's actually writes his stuff, though it is only rap. I dnt like elvis but I respect his impact. I have 0 desire to listen to elvis or watch him shake his fuckin hips

  • @Jacobrester How many hits do u have? Way to miss my point YET AGAIN. Ur a fucking tool man. Keep sucking Presely's dick. Y dnt u support BETTER musicians that were underrated, like Eddie Cochran? PPL and Elvis. I'll never understand it. He gets all kinds of royalities and the dudes who actually wrote those "hits" got a one time payment. Its not cool and its unjust and unfair. But keep on supporting talentless hacks that purchase there tunes. Ur obviously a fan of todays talentless pop music.

  • @BaalofSouls You only show your stupidity when you talk.....so shut the fuck up. Business is business dumbass.....Elvis had nothing to do with the way the royalties were dealt out in those days.....shit he was 19 and poor when he released his first record...if you got a vendetta against the corporations that you say ripped these fine song writers off then start a charity on their behalf.....please educate yourself

  • @Jacobrester If you don´t like Buddy Holly, please, stay on Elvis pages.

  • @BaalofSouls Elvis had a publishing credit on

'Heartbreak Hotel',in exchange for recording it but he had no part in composing it-it was Mae Axton as I recall.

Nontheless Elvis was a great artist in my view-if your criteria was valid all classical music performers would be dumbasses!

  • @TheSnidge To the contrary. Most, yes. But you fail to acknowledge Mozart, Bach and Beet's phenominal harpsicord/piano/ keys playing. But the bottom line w music is opinion. And it will always remain that way. I do not take back my harsh words about elvis, but know that I have a much greater respect for those that compose their own works. I respect Presely so dnt get it twisted, but i certainly am no fan of his.

  • @Jacobrester No, you´re wrong. Buddy Holly opened Bill Haley´s shows. Both Bill Haley and Buddy Holly worked in the same recording company, "Decca".

  • @Jacobrester Elvis is the King of Rock because he popularized it? Wtf does that turn Chuck Berry into? Or Litle Richard?

  • Little Richard is the true King of Rock & Roll and his version is much better.

  • @paulovexxx but little richard should burn in hell couse he insulted buddy holly who infleunced ALLLLLOOOOT MORE people than that tutti frutty dude did

  • @erpvb C'mon now! Buddy Holly was great! And he left his mark in many catagories. But Little Richard left his mark, too. Little Richard was one of the earliest black rockers to hit the white music charts by out doing his white competitor, Pat Boone, breaking the rule of the white cover artists on the white music . The Beatles practically copied Little Richard's style with "She Loves You", "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and the Beatles covered "Long Tall Sally".

  • @littlemikey1954 true but you just don't insult people like buddy holly man thats low we both agree on that i just know that

  • Thank you for posting this! Talk about punk rock! awesome...

  • if elvis is king then buddy is god

  • @nuknuknuk111 that says it all

  • rip

  • Ther is only One King, history decided that - though Buddy is also a True Legend.

  • Wow-Buddy rips into this vocal & the band rocks but good! I'd never heard him do it 'til now. I do a humble tribute version of it. Regards, '62 Mathew St. (Total Retro Rock)

  • chuck norris

  • @afroBoofawnda1 bruce lee

  • @702destruction jet li

  • @Tatyhlymah sike! he blows dick! just sayin

  • My first wife got my Buddy Holly collection. Every one of his LPs, EPs, and singles on vinyl, the price you pay for bedunlock...

  • elvis may have been more popular but i personally like buddy more.

  • Elvis was an amateur. He couldnt be a roadie for the Crickets. Holly is rock and roll. Elvis is a country back street boy.

  • he doing an elvis inpression

  • I love Buddy. I love Elvis. I love Little Richard. I love all the early rockers.

BUT, for this song, Ready Teddy, i'm gonna have to go with the original recording by Little Richard! Ooh My Soul!

  • elvis had the best version of this song,. buddy holly and little richard were very good, but elvis is just one knoch higher every time

  • Same, I prefeer buddy holly a million times over elvis. Buddy got his success in only 1 year and a half, it took elvis over 20.

I feel like buddy's voice is just Much more rocking, his riffs and tunes, hell he was nominated the most influental icon of early rock n roll. In other words, Buddy was a root of the tree, elvis was a branch.

Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry DO win the game.

  • @panflutelistener What ?....Did you know Buddy Holly was a country artist until he saw Elvis Presley live in concert in 1955 in Lubbock, TX....He loved Elvis so much he switched to Rock and Roll.....and dude.....There was nobody more famous than Elvis Presley.....nobody.........you can debate all you like about who was more influential....which was Elvis hands down...but the statistical fact is Elvis kicks the shit out of Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly

  • @Jacobrester I said he was nominated the most influential icon of early rock n roll, look it up yourself. I never claimed he was better, I claimed to Like him more than Elvis. Also, buddy only had started his career and he showed Extreme success. Stop picking fights. Bye.

  • Depends on your viewpoint Marakesh; guess that Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry might have done okay.

  • Buddy Holly was not in the same class as Elvis and I saw Buddy on stage. Elvis was a one of a kind and none of the other rock 'n' rollers would have made it without him. Even Holly said that himself.

  • Great but Little Richard was one of the true kings. Just compare the energy

  • @7670586 Your a idiot, he didn't steal nothing. Little Richard did not write this song. Buddy sings it way better.

  • @mavtx21 hell naw bitch get out of here with dat BULL SHIT

  • @7670586 Are you in any way able to write just one sentence without fuck, shit or anything like that? You moron-like style doesn't make you, nor your opinion more trustworthy.

Both version are good though. Yet Richard Penniman has more power.
