  • @CetanWitko You hit it right on d head bro....

  • Cajun country -- the prairie areas of southwestern Louisiana and the gulf marsh areas are and have been cattle country . Doug Kershaw is the singer not Buckwheat Zydeco.

  • This is fun. Thanks for posting.

  • just one problem... anyone know what it is???? that's NOT buckwheat singing. it's doug kershaw!!!! don't believe me?? get your hands on the "alligator stomp" cd's. this cut is in one of them. i don't exactly remember which one, but this is on there with doug kershaw's name next to it.

  • les bon tempes roulez

  • I really love the way Buckwheat covered a Bob Dylan song- On A Night Like This!

  • tis not buckwheat !

  • Would love to hear/see Buckwheat and Doug Kershaw do this song together.

  • @MrBobbyg01 me too I love Doug Kershaw!!

  • This is NOT Buckwheat Zydeco, this isn't his style nor his voice, I would change the title if I were you ;)

  • les bontempes roulez .. from a brit

  • This is not Buckwheat, nor is it Jo-El Sonnier. It's Zachary Richard, and it's off his CD "Snake Bite". And on another note, Hank Williams is usualy credited with writing this song. He actually only put English lyrics to it. This is in fact a traditional Cajun tune, with original Cajun French lyrics.

  • @MrAccordionguy Jambalaya is definitely NOT in "Snake Bite"... at least not in the version sold through Amazon. And the voice of the two artists are very different. Are you sure??

  • Actually on further research, the song was written by Hank Williams

  • I love me some zydeco!!!

  • Jambalaya in real cajun, C'est Bon

  • Exceptional. Anybody have the video on this classic?

  • PogueMahone72 is corrrect. The great Jo-el Sonnier is singing.

  • Excellent video! I sing Jambalaya on a banjo and this video makes me want to relearn French and eventually sing the song in French!

  • The image does not match the song

    Nevertheless...thanks Corrie

  • @07031943 Acadia is not all swamp and bayou. between baton rouge and lake charles is cattle country. lots of zydeco cowboys.

  • Jo-El Sonnier is SUPREME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The image does not match the song. The image is cattle country... the song is Bayou country!

  • @Sakamachi25 but what you dont understand is that Le Vacher Creole ran cows through that area to texas. There are plains among the bayous and lakes. mon papa et mon taton's are horse trainers and cattlemen. Once when i was about 10 years old we ran cattle from Vinton, La to Orange for a dude who was too scared to come in La to get them because a cajun girl he fucked over was going to have her brothers kill him if he came back into Louisiana. So he got our crazy creole asses to run'em.

  • It is a great song, but the song is by the cajun artist by the name of Jo-El Sonnier, and the song is called "Jambalaya"

  • @PogueMahone72 Thank you for providing the credit.

  • Good music! Great image! Thanks for posting!
