  • i have a mosin nagant, they are cheap at around 90 to 150 dollars. ammo is about 8 rounds for 20 dollars

  • lol gotta love the mosin.... worse part is at 10 feet, you could attach the bayonet and poke the gel lol....joking of course but pretty damn close...

  • @yorgerg7777 Haha, I just got a 91/30, and this comment is so true. ;)

  • A Mosin-Nagant at 10 yards?

At that range asking a 91/30 to hit a target is like asking a guy to make it into a floor-length urinal.

Nice video. Used it to show my friend the power of the 7.62x54R!

  • danm that mosin really made that gel religous (holy)

  • I have a Mosin-Nagant M44 and just love that round. It is fun to shoot out of a carbine !!

  • Yeah I know I own one of the Mosins and let me just say their is a reason that the Nazis were scarred to death of them..Many a Nazi got a 54R in their heads...

  • Damn that 7.62x54r round blew that get to bits. I could see that actually hitting a person. I'm sure as hell wouldn't want to shoot back

  • Wow, the 7.62x54r really blew the gel to pieces. Incredible.

  • @sootch00 the 7.62x54r sure did a number on the gel, but the surplus ammo for the AK surprised me that the jacket separated from the core causing much more damage than expected.

  • @firearmsanonymous how did u make your ballistics?

  • @sabhacker101 there are several ballistics gel recipes available on the internet, I used a Knox Gelatine recipe that I found because it is readily available at most supermarkets.

  • @firearmsanonymous ok i have the recipy i just wanted to make shure im not getting bs . so thx and keep up the work with the mosin nagant. lol

  • @firearmsanonymous

I often wonder why surplus 54R ammo is so ridiculously damaging when it comes to gel and other stuff. I mean I've seen .50 BMG's hit gel and don't blow it to pieces like that...same with .30-06, .338 lapua, so forth so on. They'll expand, they'll put huge holes in it, but none seem to transfer their energy into the gel that directly and violently which I'm figuring would be even worse if you were a human.

What ammo did you use specifically?

  • @IcabodCrane I believe it was 147 grain steel core FMJ

  • @firearmsanonymous just how did the 5.45 perform in the ballistics gel? did it fragment?

  • Love the production values, very nice vid!

  • @20thcenturyfilmdocs thank you for the sub and comment, I enjoyed the Mosin Nagant reloading series

  • @firearmsanonymous Tnx much...look for another one in a few months, where I use a bullet-puller to change out the .311 bullets with .308 bullets.
