  • Cbt is but one psychological model, even it accepts the role of choldhood in recent 'schema focussed' work. Neuroscience supports the crucial role of womb to 3yrs because connections in the brain and sense of self are formed in the first 3yrs of life. It's proven now that good parenting is key to brain connection and setting of emotional thermostat. Read an Oliver James book for some good reviews of recentish evidence eg "they fuck you up". Cbt is kinda cheap really...

  • How do you know?

  • @lespaul

Disagree with you, childhood is always key in mental health work. I've worked in mental health nhs and private sector for over 22 years...

  • I'm so fed up with hearing from conditioned job hungry unbalanced 'therapists' who think Cbt is a therapy. Bullshit, it's at best slightly educational at worst a misleading cheap trick. If you're sane it obviously parenting and conditioning that is key in helping cultivate balanced people. Cbt is a pitiful offering to a human being. What condescending nonsense.

  • Not sure it's at all effective. This women may have deep seated childhood fears that have nothing to do with a cafeteria... Cbt is like looking for fish in the desert. Her problems will continue in other forms till she addresses her insecure attachment and birth traumas.

  • @leapsplashafrog I'm familiar with the research on attachment styles by the likes of Fonagy and Bowlby...but what are you seeing in this video that suggests this patient lacks secure attachment or has "birth traumas"?

  • @leapsplashafrog True... for some cases. Very common mistake, which trying to invoke common sense, does not. Not all depressions/anxieties are rooted in childhood. That's something VERY hard to understand for some people. CBT is meant as a shock therapy to combat this symptoms, because you can't get to the root of the problem if you're suffering those symptoms.

  • Human beings deserve more love than this

  • @leapsplashafrog I know! This guy is all business. Effective, but a real straight shooter.

  • @leapsplashafrog I'm thinking this person went to therapy for help with her anxiety disorder. Not because she wanted love. In CBT, the therapeutic relationship is a means to an end. It's necessary to the point where it allows the change-oriented work to continue. There's no indication in this video that the client is feeling invalidated or is becoming increasingly aroused. This video is an example of a specific CBT technique being used, presumably after rapport has been established.

  • its beautifull. i love it. the way you can direct someones mind to a certin fdirection so he will see himself and his sarroundings differently.. amazingly wonderfull!

  • Awesome vedio !!!
