The homeless are mostly homeless because they never listened to what anyone told them along the way: they ignored people who told them not to do drugs, and/or they stole things, and/ort hey didn't work hard, and/or they didn't stay in school in their younger days but dropped out.

Rent-a-Protesters don't like talking about how these people got where they are. They made wrong choices in most cases.

We should feel concern mainly for those homeless who did their best but failed anyway.

i'm working under the assumption that there are many places in Canada where homeless can get assistance. I know for a fact that there are in America.

listen asshats. it's not just that there is a poverty problem. the problem has been highly exacerbated by the olympics. they've torn down hundreds if not thousands of low income houses, they've been running homeless people out of town, homeless have been disappearing and dying at unusually high rates. they've spent millions displacing homeless people, many of whom are NOT junkies and just happen to be poor. I have nothing against the olympics. but the way it's being done is evil.

Yes, the Olympic games do have a long tradition, but have steadily morphed into something else over the last century. Whereas athletes compete for the prize at being the best in their sport, nations now also compete for the bragging rights of top medal count. the colossal amounts of money spent every two years at building vast new venues for the olympic games which are used for just a month and then scarcely used again is becoming a global problem. Greece, for example, has never really recovered. London could well go the same way.
