Haha! Seriously, guys, what's with the arguments about which version is better? They're both almost completely different in terms of type of humour. It's like, hmm... 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' or 'The Hangover'? They're both hilarious in different ways, and I love them both.
Josie was on two american episodes, though I don't know why she wasn't on there more often. I wish she'd been on instead of Kathy Greenwood. I can't stand her.lol
What SormsNo3 said ^_^ The regular before them was Tony Slattery, but after he left ryan eventually kinda took over his regular slot, then he was joined by Ryan.
Have to agree to disagree i guess. Ryan and Colin were great, but Tony and Josie were a match for anyone on the later US remake of the original Uk show.
And that doesn't even go into the point that Clive Anderson brings a drier, funnier wit to the show than does Drew Carey.
Full Disclosure - Anyone who reads my "Price is Right" commentary knows that I am not a big fan of Drew hosting that show, so maybe this is just carryover hatred.
I really enjoyed watching the UK show when Comedy Central used to run it. I wish they would again.
Also, this is not to say that I am a UK-version snob. For all of his talk-show woes, this show was made for Wayne Brady, and the show itself works if at least 3 of the 4 people are funny.
Between the fact that the 2 shows "periodically" shared talent (Greg Proops and Brad Sherwood come to mind) and that the UK version did have a lot of other funny people (besides Josie and Tony, Mike McShane stands out...), I'd have to say that it'd be hard to pick a "better" one. They're just different.
@StaraziaSelin66 She was on two episodes of the US version. I wish she would have been on more. She could have taken Kathy Greenwood's place any day!
It's bad. It's like she's a completely different person. Just not anything like how funny she was on the UK version. That, or the US version didn't match her style. Too bad, really :(
@TyVulpine are you sure, dude? maybe he did it twice. the US one had him at the end staring at the camera like a deer in headlights and he was like "HELP DER MAKIN ME DO HATS I WANNA GO HOME D:"
On the radio show, Mark Leveson (who produces the TV show) actually did provide scores in a sincere attempt to determine who as the funniest. But Clive made it largely a joke in the pilot and completely a joke by the first series... the scoring was just a long running gag.
In the interview on the first season DVD you get the impression Leveson always thought there should be real scores and never quite got the joke.
I just love it when Josie and Milke pretend to be Sumos at the begining just real kiddie stuff. You don't see that on the US version proper original stuff this.
"You don't see that on the US version proper original stuff this. "
I totally agree. This is easily one of the best Whose Line episodes ever - everyone here is on 100% top form, and having lots of fun performing together too. (and all without a trace of Ryan or Colin too - no offence to either brilliant performer, but this great show had a fine history of it's own before they and Drew Carey reinvented the US remake around themselves)
They only let one contestant do a scene each time? Hmph!

@cyclonekid97 UK can also joke about Hitler, Nazi etc. US you get a British aishoole with a veto.

ILoveTheNannyAndLWF 2 years ago
Ryan - season 2, became a regular season 7.
Colin - season 3, became a regular season 8.
Ryan and Colin were on the show, they just weren't in every single episode.

What don't you like about this funny UK game that's missing from the US version?
Not enough dumb audience members screaming "WHOOOO!!!" at anything anyone says?

all the cast of the american version is much better, and the jokes they come up with are hilarious. these jokes were moderately funny

I think it would have been interesting if they actually scored it seriously.
I dont know if it would be better. I would have to see it first to judge. But I think it would be an interesting thing to see.
