I enjoyed watching this video. You "teach" not just talk. I have grown up hunting all of my life, spent 6 years in the USMC and still enjoyed watching your video. Thanks for posting!
There are several available or you can try to strike out on your own and build it from a blank of wood. The most fun I think, but it takes alot of time to cut it down just right. BUT, you get to make it JUST RIGHT for your fit. And you can make the wood beautifull. A double set trigger as well, again though , thats my preference and you will find your own. I would also find a black powder club in your area, Ill bet there is one and they will have alot of parts and info at the ready for you!
I've been going thru the "Track of the Wolf" catalog, making up a wish list. I'd already picked out a Green Mountain barrel. The Model 70 in "Winchester Rifles Part 2" is a custom stock and the Rem 597 in "Austins Birthday" is scratch built. I enjoy working on them as well as firing them. As far as powder goes, as I only use the inline now, charged with 777 FFG. I guess that will have to change when I build the flintlock pistol.
I would reccomend building your gun with a Green Mountain barrel and components. Im a big fan. With your Flint lock are you using FFFF powder in the lock? FFF in the barrel and FFFF in the lock. As far as the delayed ignition, a larger (or sometimes cleaner) port with a bigger cap and nipple on a good barrel will fix that. I also use a round ball with patch 99% of the time and I find it to be an accurate and reliable system. As far as kit guns...
What brand of gun and powder would you recommend? I've never seen a flintlock that didn't have enough hang time to unsettle somebody that grew up shooting cased ammo. The cap locks aren't as bad, but I still find it to be so. I've wanted to build a kit gun, that's the only thing holding me back.

While I agree and disagree with you, I have to give you respect for the videos. They are done very well.
I shot percussion blackpowder for years as a kid at NMLRA events. I well made gun with good powder doesnt have "hangtime".
Other than that, I like what your doing and will continue tuning in!

It's got a fair kick, but the recoil pad takes the edge off it.
It's not bad at all if you're used to shooting heavy firearms,
