It definitely works. I am not an expert, but it seams to me that by making shorter tubes will increase pressure of air and gasoline evaporation mixture (I suppose hydrocarbon). And will make flame stronger and hotter.

Yes, you're right. I make the shorter one and I think it worked better. But why the flame is not big enought if I compare to gas stove.

I used stainless steel mesh/wiring mesh to make small gasoline bubbles. Yes, I think it's too long, but it's worked.
