s chassis never were really ment for looking good.. they are track performers.. and this guy is obviously mainly about performance... sr20's perform GREAT and its most likely faster than most cars in that parking lot actually... even if its an all stock SR it will do its job. I agree with the OP, this car is rice. Despite the SR20, there is a spare in the rear seat, ziptied bumpers, cheap sportmax rims, unpainted overfenders, no front bumper, unmatched hood... Even if the car is fast, he should've splurged a little on other areas of the car.

But the above examples would be hard to beat for ANY Japanese manufacturer.

I have a kid in my school who had this pos acura. It had a body kit and he put 91 octane fuel in it. So pro. He was tailgating some one on his way to school and rearended them and then drove his pos into the ditch. Now his parents bought him a new mazda.

I wont fight reliablility etc... you really cant prove that stuff for any brand, and it varies depending on how people drive. But the above examples would be hard to beat for ANY Japanese manufacturer.

@OnlyTheFinestHerb well, an audi R8 V8 is way more expensive than my 09 challenger, but still my challenger, wightingg a ton more, accelerates as fast, and is way more beautiful, plus, i have beaten on the track audis S5, S4, ferrari 360, an R8, a porsche turbo is the only one that keeps up. also its true that if you get out of the comparasion the 2010 mustang and doodge challenger american is mostly shit. but those two handle pretty well and are good quality considering the prize and weight.

@OnlyTheFinestHerb but lets go back when american cars were good. compare a 90 hp 1963 porsche 356 to a 1963 ford galaxie 427 SOHC, wich revved up to 9000 rpm, wich was impossible for every engine except the mazda wankel engines. or compare a 1971 ford mustang mach 1 cobra jet (about 360HP, 1700KG) to a 1971 porsche 911. 120 HP and because computers werent used in cars, the engine on the back meant horrible handling.

@OnlyTheFinestHerb plus, if you did wanted to make a fair comparasion, those cars you mentiones should be compared against the ford GT, the corvette ZR1... they would ALL be pwned. the BMW m6 for example shoulb be compared to that 600hp cadillac, wich made the fastest times for a 4 door saloon in nurburgring. and you should compare the big mercedes AMG's to the challenger, since they are the only similar thing you can find in the world. and they are more or less equally fast.

The quarter panels are rivited on because they are widebody fenders... lots of people do this to fit larger wheels.
