This used to happen to my lhasa apso all the time at least 4 to 5 times a month. what seemed to help was prying her mouth open and make her face the sky opening the airways.
@babadeedee214 I just rescued a 15 year old Lhasa Apso from the kennel last night, and he's doing the same thing (once every several hours for a period of about 3 minutes). He has other problems (malnourished, kennel cough, tartar, maybe other things)--taking him to the vet as soon as I can get an appointment (or the emergency room if I can't get a vet to see him in the next day or two). If I find the answer to this breathing issue, I'll post it. Hope your dog's well.
@babadeedee214 Got to see the vet today. I described this to him, and he called it reverse sneezing (and didn't seem alarmed about it). A couple of sites which I looked at (Google "reverse sneezing") indicated that it's not a serious condition. It's a worrisome sound though. Maybe this "reverse sneezing" condition is what we're seeing here.
@babadeedee214 she maybe has Asthma all dogs have it and if she does that dont let her put her noes strait on the blanket ok and give her air or let her go outside for air
