Unwritten etiquette of leaving electronics out for people to scavenge: Put a note on it saying whether it works or not. If it's still on the sidewalk the next day, take it in for recycling.

Yeah, lots of sidewalk treasures in SF, in lobbies of apt. buildings too.
Who needs IKEA!!! also,The Salvation Army will come to ur house and pick things up, so u don't have to break ur back trying to take them somewhere.
