From the days when songs had feelings other than anger, frustration and negativity. They used to write songs to fall in love by...what's wrong with that?
Back then they weren't afraid to sing softly (men or women). Today they all have to sing at the top of their lungs and (try to) warble like you can't sing the note straight because everyones doing it. Todays music is way too "studio". Now with Luther gone there are no great male singers performing.
@vicmicver818 I SO UNDERSTAND, WISH MY DAD WAS HERE TO HEAR ME SING FI-GA-RO IN THE SHOWER AGAIN. LIKE THEY DONT MAKE GREAT SONGS ANYMORE, THERE ARE FAR TO FEW GREAT DADS. HOW I LOVE THAT MAN, BEST I EVER HAD.

To have been at a young, tender age when all these great love songs sang so sensuously by these consummate professional, moving us into a state of mind of togetherness and caring for one another makes you long for something that seems to have been lost in today's world. Thank God we were witnesses to the production of such music and were the custodians of the sentiments expressed in each verse...
@bama40nhc So eleoquently said and so exquisite a response to an incredible song. I too was young when these songs played on my record player- when saving change for the next 45 was sooo important. We were truly blessed and still are - thanks to the sharing caring people who post great songs like this
@tefnutbellsouthnet There is a song that says: everything must change, and over the years we've all learned nothing could be more true, but because of the kind of music locked into our hearts from the days when singing about "love", God's greatest gift to the world seemed so important, our little boys and little girls will live forever...
I remember hearing this song on the radio while watching Cleopatra 1999. I remember it playing right at the part where Marc Antony died in Cleopatra's arms too!

Black radio stations of the 70s played music across the generations. I turned 13 in 1976, so this song wouldn't have appealed to me then; it was The Commodores or EW&F of someone like that, for me. But one of my sisters, who was 22, would have liked it. My mother could hear the latest Johnnie Taylor song on the same station we listened to. We were exposed to a good cross-section of musical styles in those days.
timeless, beautiful music, that is what the momenrs aka as ray, goodman, & brown will for ever mean to me, R.I.P. harry ray & al goodman, i know you r now singing to the angels. you will never be forgotten and always loved

My 18 year old daughter and her friends are always listening to my old-schools because when you need a song to remind you of that special person, this hip hop crap just aint making the grade. How you gonna feel romantic with something like "Get back mf you don't know me like that"?
@knoxbenjamin I listen to all music my friend, the comment was about feeling romantic. Rap does not lend itself to to memories of that special love. I grew up in the 70's and in the music, R&B, soul, pop, and country the main theme was love. Having it, wanting it or missing it, it was love. From the Four Tops to England Dan & JFC to Dr Hook, the theme was love. Sharing the night by Dr Hook is a great country/soul love song.
The moments had such soft voices they were a great group with golden voices. Now Harry Ray and Al Goodman are in Heaven with God along with my little brother Donnie who died in a car crash at 27 years old my brother adored the Moments. They are all singing with the angels Rest in Peace Donnie (1989) Harry Ray(1992) and Al Goodman(2010)

this song is so beautiful, i grow up hearing the moments music & this song is one reason i feel in love with them, R.I.P harry ray, al goodman, u guys r why music was at it's best back in the day. i wish we had groups like u now.
this song really makes me stop in my tracks when i here it because its real wow what happen to the women who don't like to here a guy or her man say this to her rather than being called a bitch or a whole and then end making love after being talked to like that the thinks that's love now no this is being in love
I don't know who wrote this song but it's one of the most lyrically moving I have heard for a love song. And Harrys voice is just icing on the cake. Every man should learn the words. Where did the romance go? This song gives you hope. thanks for the post.

They sang real good and remind me of my teenage years when life was simple, brought simple pleasures simple joys, just hanging around at a girl friends house and sleeping over was such a joy already! No booze,no drugs, just girl talk!
when my mother died, 4 some reason this song reminded me so much of her. and its so true, I love my mother so much I can't breathe! I honestly jus feel like i'm existing without her and i don't know how to start my life over! I MISS U SO MUCH MOMMY!
