When the AR-15 was used in Nam they said that is was the gun that NEVER needed to be cleaned...After some hard used in Nam they realised That its just like any other firearm..It has to be cleaned from time to time...The AR family will work perfectly if you keep it maintained and well oiled in other words "Love you're firearm and it will love you back"

Oh yes, the field striping in the middle of combat was just dumb on the Military's part, in fact, if they just told them to clean the M-16 in the first place not as miny solders would have died. And i would like to so Say The AK-47 was better suited for the Area of operation's there...They didn't have the Jungle in mind when they made the M-16. @hickok45 AR's have a bad reputation for jamming. Which is something alot of us AK guys consider a con of the AR. But an AR jamming is not and issue if you take care of your weapon, and clean it. Even if you have an AK you should still take care of and clean it. I don't care if its a glorified sling shot, taken care of your weapon is always a good thing."Even though about the only thing you can do to make an AK NOT fire is maybe run it over with a tank"
