I was living overseas as a kid when this fight happened. I read about it, and I didn't know what Bonecrusher looked like. All I could think was that he was a big scary guy. With a name like "Bonecrusher Smith" I figured he looked a pro wrestler, a Mafia enforcer, or a homicidal maniac. I mean just the name ALONE scared me. I didn't actually get to see what he looked like until '85. He was big and scary-lookin', but not SO mean because he DID smile from time to time!

@Odawg96 LOL, no one would put you in a cage with "Bonecrusher" Smith and leave you there for 24hrs. But as "kids" we are irrational beings. I was afraid of the boogeyman.

I never see Larry Holmes throw a left hook,didnt use it at all?????????its a very important punch the left hook..

@onlyjoetee Ive watched most of Homes fights and you are right he doesnt use the left hook much at all, but his jab was such a dominant punch he didnt need the hook to win
