Paix a ton ame, Jo Mpoyi; tu etais fantastique.
One in a millions. Thanks Luambo Makiadi for your body of work.
His not only in his composition, but also in ability t assemble the best musician where member of the band is at the top of his game whenever they performed. He got the best of out his musician. I explained by the fact Franco does not seem to have an ego, where he has this need to play on every song, or always be in the front row of the band.
thanks for the music, its superb. there is a song im looking for dont know the name but it goes emamu jambula, jambula ya kina kwamy ,emamu jambula ya kina ok jazee ...something like that dont speak congolese so the words must be wrong but they sound something like that..do you have it on here and if so whats the name of this song? i love it so..thanks a million.
Yeah!!! I remember this concert. We were in Grammar School and did not have the money to go to see le Grand Franco and the TP OK Jazz. We were playing Franco everywhere and everyday. During the Christmas and New Year, we couldn't get enough of Franco and 'til this day, we still crave him. Thanks AS for posting this.
Great Djoe Mpoyi (RIP), fantastic performer. Only recently learnt that there was a breakaway at TP OK Jazz in early 80s with Mpoyi taking his way together with others like Lukoki. Bands were formed such as Orchestre Kara de Kinshansa, Le Canon du Zaire, Ba Patrons, Tiers Monde Cooperation, OK International. Anybody with vids of these bands?
Haha...fantastic! So it was not really something to talk about when these guys formed their own 'bands'. It must have been a very short afternoon then, but do you have any famous title produced by one of these 'bands'?
Joe Mpoyi, RIP. Bel homme le type des vrais Luba. Existent-ils encore? Des hommes luba, naturellment beaux?

Une voix sans nulle autre pareil.
La plus belle voix du répertoire congolais !

I don't speak the language, but I believe the song you are looking for is called "Bina Na Ngai Na Respect" by Ntesa Dalients.

If I'm not completely mistaken it should be "Bina na nga na respect" by Franco & Le T.P. OK Jazz

Babmushe, what de you call a breakaway? When a couple of guys slip into a studio for an afternoon?

Kady by Canon du Zaire I seem to remember (Josky, Djo, possibly Diatho) was not too bad. But it's been a while, I'm not sure.
