  • Had one delivered with the same problem in the UK. ASUS were very helpful and supplied a fault reference code so I could return it to the supplier for a swap out. - Hope the next one doesn't have the same problem, as I would guess there is a defect in the manufacturing process that is causing this problem!?

  • my dvd wont eject, it hits the case and wont come out.....has your eee box got a disc in it already

  • I have the same problem too. Now I can't get my DVD out and it makes a grinding sound everytime the PC starts up. Not good :(

  • does anyone have a fix for this? I am also having the same problem.

  • did you get new one?

  • lololol

  • lolz, epic support (n00b) idiocy xD

I don't have any problem with my DVD drive. But I know someone with a Mac Book who had the same problem as you.

Between the chassi and the slot-in DVD drive, there are some rubber or something.

Try to open the chassi and check if the rubber-something and the slot-in DVD drive is correctly in place. Sometimes it could be kuten out a millimeter or two (resulting in problems when inserting a DVD)

PS! nice OS.. I got Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit beta myself :P

  • So the EB1501 can't play dvd's?

  • I can't say. I had sent it back to China.

  • Asus asked me to try a Windows CD instead.
