but my question is that, why does it always have to be a brahmin or nair "culture" whenever they depict kerala in albums and songs... don't anyone else live in kerala??. what about our kerala's ezhava culture?? what about kerala's adivasi culture?? what about malayalee christians?? what about malayalee muslims??

kerala is not owned by one group of community or by one group's culture. i hope the next person who makes a song about kerala realizes that.

Your question is absolutely reasonable. Kerala is a state consisting of different religions and castes. It's not a state for Nairs or Brahmins. As you said, they never shows Christianity or Islam culture in any of these videos. And the funny thing is, Nairs in kerala corresponds to only 12.88% where Brahmins are really low around 1.59%, of the total communities in Kerala. Compared to this, Christians are 20% and Islams are 24% of the total communities in Kerala.

Enjoy the music not the religious part in it. Who said they have not given equal importance to other caste in Kerala, the girl and her family members may represent the community you have mentioned. But what about other people in the video like theyyams, fishermen, farmers etc. etc.... they represent different community in Kerala.

There is nothing explicitly religious in this song.......except one/two places...even that is not any temple etc.......

If you probe further Kalari is a "also linked to religion".......but so is Karate also.......

Just like Japan is proud of Karate, Korea of Taekwondo, ..so can all Keralites ca be proud of Kalari / Ayurveda/Kathakali etc....mixing caste/religion in it is stupid !!......

btw... I am a Tamil.....not a Malayalee.....& all are proud of "Tirukkural".....
