  • I was very confused on viewing this it's all true stuff, but it's not propitiation. It is indeed describing the doctrine of justification, which is also a great truth of God.

  • Propitiation is "a sacrifice that averts the wrath of God, expiates sin, and cancels guilt" (J I Packer, Knowing God). This clip is two minutes from a 45-minute message that unpacks this definition. I fully believe in God's wrath being absorbed by Jesus' death on the cross, which is the essence of the doctrine of propitiation. It's just not the essence of this clip.

  • @1000DaysEvangelism - You're mistaken and do not know what you're talking about regarding, R.W. Glenn. I invite you to visit Redeemer Bible Church. You will not make it through Worship or through Bob's sermon without hearing a call to repentance and faith.

@truthsourcenet - This video is clearly explains propitiation. You've got way too much time on your hands dude.

  • ....my sin, not in part, but the whole is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord oh my soul!

  • Wow!

  • This video/preacher explains the doctrine of justification, not propitiation. Justification tells us that believers are declared not guilty before God by faith, not works. That's what this video is about. Propitiation, however, means "to appease." God's wrath is incited at sin; propitiation explains just HOW this wrath is appeased. Propitiation demonstrates how the fierce wrath of God was diverted away from guilty sinners and directed, instead, to Christ, as He hung on the cross. Isa. 53:10.

  • ...IF you repent and believe (continue to believe). All this is conditional upon repentance and believing. I don't know why they are so afraid of saying, "Repent and Believe?" (Well, I know why actually...it's a long story...)

  • @1000DaysEvangelism You're right. But keep in mind that this is a 2 minute excerpt of a 45 minute sermon.
