For at least a few years Halo 2 was my favorite game of all time, then when Halo 3 came out I loved it too. I didn't even play Halo Wars, and by the time they got to O.D.S.T. I was officially bored of the genre, so I went back to playing Nintendo more like I used to.

Just think ODST, then Wars, THEN it'll be anniversary, then they'll have a hole nother year on 4. It's continuing the same story and you have chief again. Your saying it to basic. Look they're not all the exact same. To say that simplifying something complex, which is the definition of stupid in my opinion. Halo 1 was origional, Halo 2 fans didn't want it to be to different because the had on't tasted Halo, Halo 3 was new weapons equipment vehicles allies etc. ODST-Reach weren't as good but were still decent. Halo 4 they're fighting new everything, it has chief, new weapons/vehicles obviously, planet, it's all new.

@MAlford65 Okay it's got Master Chief and a new planet, those are both story changes, the gameplay isn't effected by them. Guns and vehicles, vehicles have never been too big a part of the series. There's no part where you absolutely need to use them, it's just fun too. But my main point is that Halo isn't a bad series, but if you zoom the camera out and look at the rest of the gaming world, Halo is such a small and insignificant piece it's not even funny, and it's given way too much credit.

There's always at least a couple vehicle levels in each game (true, it's often possible to not use them, but only if you want to spend three hours slogging through the level). As for Halo's place in the gaming world...what are you talking about? Halo is Microsoft's flagship when it comes to video games. Many consider it the main reason for the original Xbox's success, and both Halo 2 and 3 broke the record for fastest selling video game of all time.

I sure don't, I know more adults who play Nintendo than Halo. It's the newer games and genres that appeal to younger people, and the older and longer running companies and franchises that appeal to adults. Halo is mostly played by people 10-18 years old thinking they're cool, therefore it is given too much credit.
