  • I bought every zeppelin lp at a garage sale (exept "3" and "CODA") for about $1 each, all in great shape (exept physical graphite, that one's alltorn up, but still plays). I later bought "3" at a record shop for $10, truley one of my favorite albums. Just goes to show record collecting doesn't have to be expencive, and the quantitie of music you get is amazing

  • Nice video!

I just bought my very first Led Zeppelin lp today! A original copy of the IV album. Such great artwork on there. I hope that I will have the complete collection myself one day. I'm almost 18 but I love Led Zeppelin!

    Rick

  • @RickRR22 Thanks Rick. Great that you have discovered LP's and that you love Zeppelin. Best of luck in getting the whole set. I was 11 yrs old when that LP was released. That was 40 yrs ago. Great to see that their music lives on with you young people!!!

  • @RickRR22 Very nice album. Dont know if you know this or not but, if you open the gatefold and hold the right edge to a mirror there is a dragon looking at you. The mountain is really a dragon. Pretty cool.

  • @peartfaldo Only read your reply by now! I can't really see the 'dragon' in the picture though, but it's a fun fact for sure! If you search Google pictures for ''led zeppelin iv mirror'' you can find a mirror image of the album ;)

    Cheers!

  • was led zeppelin 1 not a gatefold?

  • @EXTREME4YEARSTOCOME Hi there. No, no gatefold. I don't ever remember seeing one that was.

  • @beninski707 thanks and forgot to say sweet collection. im hoping to make one like it someday

  • @beninski707 thanks and forgot to say sweet collection. im hoping to make one like it someday

  • I have them all in lp and cd

  • The closest I've been able to get is hearing (having) rips of those (I, II, IV and Physical Graffiti).

And they sound great! Specially the earlier albums have a sound improvement. Surprisingly to me, Physical sounds the same as the CD!

Sadly, I'm only able to see the scans of the art. Perhaps getting used old records for just the art might be nice. Got an old turntable I can use every summer.

I read they were discontinued a while ago.

  • correct me if im wrong but wasnt john bonham the last to join?

  • @XxH3LLsB3LLsxX Absolutely. I'm surprised no one corrected me up until now. Thanks for commenting!!

  • @beninski707 yeah im a pretty huge fan of zeppelin, i just had to comment that.

  • Great collection. LZ is Awesome.but... have you watched the howard stern segment on how Zep ripped off others music for their 1st album and some other classics. Its worth a watch. Just type in Howard Stern Led Zeppelin here on youtube.

  • I almost got em all

  • These sound SO much better than any CD versions! Can't beat vinyl for this type of music.

  • Not quite as good as mp3 in 320kps, but definately better than cd quality.@stuarttacey

  • My memory of a very old Led Zeppelin 4 album cover (from the 70s) was that it was of a more cardboard dry sort of a cover rather than a shiny plastic coating that came out years later. The later cover was probably better as' the older one tore more easily at the corners, especially the inside sleeve. If you cant afford these full size originals there is a mini vinyl replica box set you can pick up which have a better than normal sound for some reason. Great review.

  • In my opinion, the 2 best Houses of Holy songs are the Rain Song and The Ocean. They win by far.

  • a 200 gram album?? wow i thought my jimi hendrix experience lp is 180 gram and i thought that was heavy!!!

  • they're not exact replicas if the album record label is not the plum colour.

these have the red/green labels atlantic use to this day, changed after led zeppelin 3 was released.

  • Good Point!!!. Let's say then that they are exact replicas of the later pressings after 1971. I forgot about the plum label pressings. Wish I had a mint copy of one of those.

  • @Stratocaster21st1994 the plum/red colour ones were the original british pressings until houses of the holy was same as the american release with a red/green label

however all the american pressings were red/green

  • Fuck you're awsome (the song is Dazed and confuzed live the song remiane the same live album I got that one)

  • hi is playing dazed and confused in the background, off of the dvd the song remains the same

  • man i wish i had those im tryin my best but ya zep 2 and 3 are my favorite i love thank you and livin lovin maid. and thanks for all the information.

  • Thanks for the nice comments.

  • beninski707,

    PLEASE DUDE, tell me

Is there any chance that i could find these albums in the original pressing? i'm tired of looking through antique store and flea markets and not finding shit. I own 5 out of the 10 original albums and i'm still trying in find 1, 3, Presence, Song Remains The Same, and CODA. If you have any tips or secrets, please let me know

  • No secrets. If you've found 5 of their lp's at thrift stores, you are extremely lucky especially if in decent condition. The thing with thrift stores is that 99.999% of the Lp's they sell are one noone wants. Also, the staff at these stores will go through before they hit the floor. The best way to get these lp's is at record shows or on-line auctions such as E-Bay. To get near mint copies, you coukd pay quite a bit. Don't stop the thrift store thing though as you might get lucky again!

  • @clerksfan89 I got a used record store in my town, and most of the albums are in pretty decent quality. I've picked up 1, 4, Physical Graffiti, Presence, and ITTOD.

If you can find a used record store by you, they are real gems. Plus the one I go to is relatively cheap. Most expensive I bought was The Who's Tommy in mint w/ shrink wrap still on for $35. Plus you can mix and match different parts of the albums so if lp jacket is beat up but liner and record are in good shape, swap w/ good cover

  • It;s the mini vinyl replica you see on the related videos section. Mine are the Japanese pressings and each cd comes with an obi strip.

  • 40 bucks each? Jeez ya gotta take a 2nd job just to afford this collection!

  • Yeah, they were not cheap but the value of these has already escalated. Recently, someone on ebay sold his identical collection which were all unsealed for $1,200. That's about triple what I paid for them. These were out of print in 2007 and are considered by many to be the finest pressing of these albums. I have to agree in that they sound incredible. If you can find sealed copies now you are looking at a minimum of $60 with the rarest being In Through the Out Door going for $300 and up.

  • Do you play these albums or have back-up copies? I just recieved the vinyl replica box set... they sound great!!

  • I play them occaisionally. I have 4 turntables but play them only on my Denon DP 60l with my best Denon Cartridge as this combination treats my more valuable records the best. I don't have back-up copies. Wish I did. Which box did you buy? The Song remains the same??

  • HAHA i have strait originals from the ear each came out and a in through the out door hungarian import with the original paper sleev on it and im only 13 (u mibht be wonderin how'd that happen well i like flea markets ALOT)

  • its not 'd-'ya maker', its 'jamaica'

a small difference in US to UK accent and pronunciation often leads to confusion there

ps 4 sticks is great maybe u r a little too critical that track is all about the mood. Not enough drugs maybe...?

  • You may be right there. Thanks for the comment!

  • you've got class aplenty. That was a very laid-back response. Respect.

  • Ahh no! I love Four Sticks! Haha great video thoough.

  • Gave u 5 stars! Love your home page!

  • Hey, I'm back! Check my Zeppelin collection. All original. All mint. Gay ass Youtube wont let me play a Zepp. song though. Stupid. Anyway, I use a Thorens 160 Super, so as far as sounding better with the 180 gram, I have no clue! lol. Sounds just insane with the originals. Thats a Thorens for ya!

  • Hey. I just saw your video and left you my comments. Great collection and a very cool system, especially your Thorens. It must be one of your prize possessions. Thanks for your comment and video upload.

  • Thank You! Ok...........check out My "Thorens 160 Super" video. You'll hear the sound quality in that video. Its a promo copy. Mint. Insane. Hint...........crank this! lol. sounds awesome. Love your Technic's turntable. Never seen that model before. Very cool.

  • hey man, your collection is very cool.u seem to feel the same about records as i do.those plastic lined inner sleeves are the best for sure.classic records did release the song remains the same on 200 gram vinyl,i have one and it sounds excellent.i couldnt agree with you more about opening and listening to sealed records.have a killer weekend

  • During the recording of Zepp. IV they where having a hard time trying to come up with a title name for "four sticks". Jimmy looked to see what time it was. 11:11. He yelled out "Four Sticks".

  • That is a great piece of trivia. Thanks for your comment!!

  • nice dude, im so jelous

  • Thanks for sharing. I'd have to say II and IV are my top two Zep albums. On Holy...What about Over The Hill and Far Away? How do you feel about that track? thougth that was killer. FYI---being a big Zep Fan...check out the guy here on youtube that has a signed copy of each studio album. It's awesome!!

  • You are right about that track. Sorry I forgot to mention. I already saw the video you mentioned and yes, it is quite cool; however, the Lp's could be in better shape. I'm sure they are worth big bucks but would be worth a lot more if in better condition. Thanks for your comment!!
