He contends his 23,000 employees live in a culture of food safety and have an unwavering commitment to keeping your food safe. I allege that is an outright false statement of fact, and I hold documentary proof of such. Maple Leaf does have a propensity for permitting their companies operations to perform with actionable negligence, all in the name of saving a buck, and in this case that buck was at a cost of human life.
change your real attitude..fire all your loser management and quit hiring people that can't ..no i should say refuse to speak english..maybe raise wages too..my guess some fuckhead from afganastan did this!!
Look at PETA and ALF for doing this as an act of bio-terrorism. It is NOT beyond their capabilities and PETA has been stooping lower and lower with it's add campaigns. Remember Christmas 2006... same plant and syringes were found in packaged hams. Are the two incidents related? I don't know but I would be looking into it, if I was the CFIA. Like I said look at PETA and the ALF as possible suspects.
If so proud who is accountable for the deaths? Misscarages? Sickness? Medical bills for people with no coverage that are already living below poverty line? Not fair once again the governmant let us down. We are Canadians lets start acting like it . Maby people will grow up in this election and not let the media decide for them. There is more than the two parties that run. Its time to make the smart choice. Also phone your MP and voice your concern esp if its those cock suckin Conservatives
He arrogantly spouts his PR bs right at the beginning 'even though liseria is a bacteria commonly found in other foods' but fails to mention due to the nature of their business it is a PINNACLE aspect of their activity and not others; deceivingly trying to bring itself to a level playing field as Lucky Charms cereal. Even in the beginning of his rant he gobbles up the PR bs his drones spewed out for him like the tool he is, don't believe this bs. Things go wrong, but own up to it.
I work for maple leaf and i am proud to work there! This could happen to any plant that makes food products. Most People let what the media has to say run there lives and they couldnt gather facts and sort them out in there head if there life depended on it. People think for your self! Maple leaf is an excellent company that is committed to bring the best to the table. I wouldnt want to work anywhere else and I feed any one of our products to my own kids without any worry at all.
Ya feed you to die what a great company bad safety and inspection procedures if proper procedures are in place none of this wouldve happened wake up. I will never buy any of there products ever again. The CFIA should be held accountable too we as Canadians take too much crap from these big companies and political corruption we need to take a stand. Now with all this crap the workers sitting at home should be paid in full. All the higher up non union staff should be canned simple as that !!!!
Has it occured to anyone that Maple Leaf food products can only be safer now and that they will be the safest food products on the market as a result of this unfortunate situation? There are many other smaller food producers out there that do not follow safe food handling practices..are you going to trust them to feed you and your family? Me and my family will continue to eat Maple Leaf products. If you dont believe me ,check out the little companies..you can see for yourselves...
Safety measures will certainly improve. But the approach will still be flawed; management is the one who dictates new or stricter procedures. The problem, as with most corporations, is that insight from individual workers is completely omitted from the formula of company improvement. Workers observe, experience, and know variables that management often & usually overlooks. Yet workers are never approached for their insight other than the minor and weak suggestion box that sits on the wall.
How can you support this they didnt clean certain machines for 4 to 5 years wow they rather spend nothing to clean and millions in the end as well as reputation wow great leadership , Second its the CIFA fault for leaving it up to Maple Leaf to test there own stuff isnt that conflict of interest? hmmmm. wake up people phone your local MP and demand answers. This is what you get when you get a cookie cutter PM and all of his goons the MPs . This sounds just like the water years ago wake up people
The equipment is cleaned daily. Unfortunately due to a design flaw parts of the equipment can harbour bacteria which could not be detected by means of the normal testing process and were unknown to the quality assurance staff. This has been rectified fully. Sadly this was discovered far too late.
CFIA will no doubt be reviewing it's operations and most certainly Maple Leaf is. As a consumer and a Maple Leaf employee I have full confidence in our products.I hope that you can regain yours in time
Like i said i wont and i said it about wall-mart and i have held up with that i refuse buts thats a whole different ball game. Sadly too the government is at fault with cutbacks in testing and i am no fool i am also a proud ufcw steward wich i see what really goes on in politics as well as companies. Such a shame when you see there commercials and they just lie and people get brainwashed easily i would say 70% of society is and its sad. We need to pressure our government
I am actually not surprised that this outbreak occurred. I used to work at another ML plant. Health and safety rules were constantly being broken. I observed so much including machinery not being sanitized after cleaning, floors of rooms being high pressed washed although there were ready-to-eat product in the room, poor training methods for new workers, the health lab room itself was filthy, & much more. I spoke up & eventually quit. Of course I was only labeled as a troublemaker, and a quiter.
Hello.. can anyone call or tell Michael H. McCain that they need to add English subtitle for Deaf it will be great for all Deaf in across Canada to read the subtitle on this YouTube.
Other one on youtube there is no subtitle and this one is french subtitle... but where is ENGLISH!!!?? for Deaf that they can read on this subtitle (Quebec Deaf can read french subtitle) but other??? hello???
Worst crisis ever for ML, no one planned this, it can happen to any company. Bacteria is a scary thing. How bout countless other sloppy cies who don't follow standards, butcher animals inhumanely, don't sanitize their facilities, sell contaminated food anyway (mad cow disease is still around),we don't hear about them. They're the ones we should worry about. Hope ML will court settle with the families, bounce back with a kick-ass plan to win ppl's trust like Tylenol, Audi, GM, Merck did...
"On behalf of the 23,000 people of Maple Leaf Foods who live a culture of food safety, we offer deep and sincere sympathy to those who are ill, or who have lost loved ones."
FUCK YOU!!! INEXCUSABLE, UNFORGIVABLE! You have our health in your hand!! Mistake is not granted!! Hey MapleLeaf staff, get another job NOW!! FUCK BIG MEAL PRODUCER!!!
HEY ALL CONSUMER, GO TO BUY LOCALE PRODUCERS MEAL!!!BETTER THING YOU CAN DO!!
Maple Leaf should leave no stone unturned and make sure it neve happens again. Meanwhile people, don't be stupid and don't go buy shneider's crap. They are recalling food at least 4 times a year (go see the canadian food inspection website)
I am disapointed in Maple Leaf and i hope that this whole mess is not due to negligence and if it is, some heads needs to roll!!
bah.. 100 yrs ++ in the making, one listeriosis outbreak, sure, very deplorable, ppl are sick, some have have died, maybe more will, it's disgusting. But Maple Leaf is a good company, good ppl working there, union workers who proudly put their heart and soul in what they do.
i doubt most of those workers are proud!making what 11 maybe 14 dollars an hour and then pay union dues..most of them can't hardly speak english!!do the math! it was bound to happen!!
Maple Leaf Food is the best meat company Ever i accept your apology this can happen to any company. When this happened you did do your best to stop it and take care of the situation immediately.
Geez this guy is an asshole. He seems more concerned about his damn company and covering it's ass. Hope the gov't jails your ass for what you've done.
asshole.. why? it's a heartfelt apology, the company risks shutting down. At this point, it's not about covering your ass, it's about taking it to the next level.
i quit eating at Subway restaurants a few years ago because employees refused to wash their hands before making my sandwich after touching money which is the dirtiest thing you can work with.
This doesn't surprise me but the company is backpeddling.
I wonder if the CEO will be getting his hefty bonus this year.
