The anime was close to imba, the magna, well I have not finished it yet, the game ... we it folowes the anime ... but none the less...all about fate/stay night or fate zero is imba compared to most other anime/manga/games .... and my first impresion was when I sae the full anime and it was pretty impresive that is all, I've seen better, sorry ...

They do not return necessarily to their lives, as they are dead to begin with to become heroic souls. They do however return to the afterlife where they rest in peace, or become summoned again. Case in point is how Saber is summoned two tournaments in a row, or how Assassin claims he never thought he would be summoned to Earth again.

@DarkAngel63725267 They are Heroics Spirits, theyr death is just disappearing from this world but they can be summoned again in next HGW, if you are more interested PM me i'll explain it by few pics.

@DarkAngel63725267 Servants are already kind of dead... So they return to being spirits after they die in the Holy Grail War. There's also a thing where servants forget all the events that happens when they are awakened, but yea. Saber was an exception though, but I'm too lazy to explain her complicated case.

Servants return to Akashi when they die, yes the Servants Place. They are recycled for whichever next war they will be summoned into, and loose all memory before doing so. Saber is an exception; since she formed a pact with the world before she died; so she returns to before her death before each new war and is able to retain her memories from previous ones.

@Bargadiel Didn't you play trough Heavens feel? The whole point of the holy grail system is to trap the power of the heroic spirits in the grail instead of letting them return to Akashi.
