I like this car enough that I would buy one, but Whitney is exaggerating a bit. While the fit may be very good, the finish definitely is not on par with luxury makes likes Lexus. The plastics are a definite step down. But to me, this car isn't competing against Lexus, really, it's competing against cars like the Avalon, Maxima, Impala, 300, and Five Hundred. On that basis, there isn't much to complain about.
I love my Azera, people just can't believe it is a Hyundai. Excellent review by the way, very fair and unbiased unlike some of these other clowns I've seen on here.
tony whitney has horrid taste clearly, why would he be like i hate this aluminium finish after he claims that the true luxury brands would be proud of this car... i have a bmw X3 and and Acura tl and they both have that finish, comes in the lexus with the silversport package first and now almost in everyone also in almost every sport packaged infinifti and bmw and amg and sport packaged mercedes so im not really sure wat he is talking about
To the nay sayers. My 02 Santa Fe has 168,000 miles and the only thing I had to replace outside of regular maintenance was the power steering pump. Resale kind of stinks, but not any worse than the average American car.
My 07 Sonata V6 has been great so far. 28000 miles and no complaints. Sorry nay sayers, you really don't know what you are talking about. Every time someone sees it they think I have bought a brand new car, they are shocked when I tell them I've had it over 2 years.
i want all the american and japs who bash hyundai to watch this, and all of the commercials that hyundai made which promote the awards they received... idk how people can be so ignorant and defiant sometimes...
well it's because of the quality, reliability etc. It's a good bang for the buck. But, the resale value is crap and quality falls behind even that of American's. For example, compare 10yr old toyota and 10yr old hyundai. Toyota would run well like before, while Hyundais start to have problems after 5-6years of use.
Resale value will rise as short term quality rises. With all the Toyota recalls and problems of late, I wouldn't be surprised if Toyota's long term quality wains. Hyundai is definitely headed in the right direction.
you cant compare a 10 year old hyundai. hyundai sucked balls until 5 years ago, and since then they last as long as any fucking japanese car, and longer than most american ones. have you even driven one?
Golf// Yes Hyundai is almost upto the par with our domestic cars. But american and japanese brands weren't sucking their thumbs while Hyundai was improving. They did improve a lot but they're not in the same level yet. THAT is all i was saying. 'f-ing japanese car'=do you have problem with japs making good cars?
i have absolutely no problem, i drive a damn Scion xB. I'm just trying to point out that I know numerous people who own Hyundais who have beat the crap out of them and they are still running, yet this is also the same from people who own the older Saturn cars, as I did at one time and let me tell you, GM does not make that reliable of a car anymore. I love my Toyota/Scion to death though
Check Consumer Reports. Hyundai's ratings are better than Germans easily and better than Americans. Only Ford comes close among Americans. Mercedes Benz is terrible. BMW's not far behind. Audi/VW have a low of work to do too.
i know i know. im just saying their reliability were not as good before. But they've improved a lot. And that's why i recently got a new 3.8 Genesis. nice car.
wat the fuck are you talking about there cars are reliable check jd power, consumer reports. and among non luxury brands hyundai has the best quality. as for resale all there cars have average resale values on par or above the americans but not on the level as the japanese
What happened to the New Driver's Seat anyway?...

This is nice car, but my 09' Sonata looks 10x nicer inside.
Hyundai needs to redo the inside of this car because you know something is wrong when the inside of a cheaper car looks much nicer.

He's wrong when he says hyundai copied the chris bangle look for the 7 series trunklid. The old hyundai XG300 had it first.

initial quality was rated only behind porsche and lexus, ahead of toyota, nissan, and honda.
get ur facts straight.
tjpark1111 3 years ago
tjpark//That's initial quality, not the overall quality. I have recently owned a Hyundai. Also, didn't I say "reliability"? I didn't say quality.
cirenow 3 years ago

read ur statement again idiot
tjpark1111 3 years ago
quality means of overall and reliability. What you come up with is initial quality.
