@JakeW476 I like the SRX6 very much. Its got a good engine with a nice sound if you get a good pipe on it. And its basically a cafe racer from the start. Wouldnt mind owning one at all, but im afraid i already have too many bikes :-)
@bikerdude73 Video made me a little nostalgic, my red 78 ended it's life in the side of a 6 point buck deer at aprox. 135kph, that was a lot years ago now, and did open the door for a red 86 SRX 6 (much fun) which sadly, is also now gone.
Of course, a man can't be without a bike, and now have a red 82 R65LS.
@MrOzWarrior The rearsets are from kedo in germany, but not sure if they make them anymore. The front disk is from a yamaha yzf750 with aluminium center and the calipper is from a R6.
Yeah coool bike.... but 30 bhp? Come on, is that enough?> I am looking for a second bike. My current is a KTM duke 2, which is 625cc, and 55 bhp. I am just not sure I can appreciate something with such low hp... my first bike was a vtr250 and had 35hp............. 30 hp? is it enough?
@clevername333 this bike has 33hp in its original form. Ive tuned it with a hotcam and a Mikuni carb plus KN-filters and an open exhaust. Now it produces avbout 42-45hp on the engine. You have to remember this bike is 32 years old. Its meant for crusing around were you live and have fun on twisty roads. And i must say it does excatly that very good! Its an old bike but i love it and Lots of people come up to me and say how much they like it or that its cool etc.. I have other bikes with more HP!
Hi dude it looks like you lost a lot of low end tourge thanks to the new cam who will produce a late close for the intake valve, you can raise compression to 10/1 to compensate for the loss, or increce the volume to 535-600 cc. i would do both, you could ofcourse replace the hot cam with the stock cam , anyways do not be afraid to increase the compression with 1/10 because that probaly what the engine lost with the new cam installed.
This would be true if i had a race cam, but i dont. I have a nicer cam wich i only needed reinforeced valve rockers to get the engine running proper. I also have a 36mm Mikuni carb and 2 KN airfilters. The exhaust is opend up as well. No supertrap at the end of it. The bike runs very good. I have lots of low end tourge and the top speed is the same as an original bike. I always run the bike between 50 and 90km/h and it works great. Might run a bit lean, thats all. Thanks for your input.
love the look of this SR; really clean. sort of how i think the bike should've been produced.
how fast have you gotten it to with all the tuning?
cadeuce 2 months ago
@cadeuce the topspeed is the same as the original bikes, but the acceleration and tourque is much better. But thats what i was going for anyway :-)

Great bike mate! I like your taste with the style of this baby. Can you tell me more about he rearsets, are they custom? and the front disc rotor?
Cheers

Bytte nyss ventiltätningar/ventil knaster och topplocks packning. Snart går SR 505an igen !

Nei, jeg har bare tatt ut supertrappen bak slik at eksosen er en del mer åpen :) Bråker mer nå og litt mer effekt.
