Also, the confidence that he refers to is more of an arrogance stemmed from the belief that technological advancement can solve our problems and that they can do anything. With the new economic realities where the latest gadget will be less affordable, I wonder how this generation will do.
He's spot on in differences between X'ers and Milennials in regards to eduational methods. Being a late wave X'er (1980), I caught some of the "team" teaching and learning methods at the end of high school and through college.
I hated doing anything in this format- like Howe states, I wanted to sink or swim on my own, not having to compensate for other members of the team that it was clear were uncapable of contributing.
Now it seems as if I'm fighting the same thing in the workplace...
