  • Actually, it ended up being a blown head gasket. Tore the motor down, replaced the gasket, machined the head, sold the car...2 years ago

  • my ohv sounds same....it's a very very very small misfire, nothing to worry about at all.....happens to all engines on cold starts, once the engine warms up, the timing evens out

    what happens is the computer senses cold engine, so it makes it run rich and you're not tuned to run rich so the timing gets messed up until warm and it gets even out

  • my focus does that when cold but it also seems to skip a cylinder every now and then whilst driving

  • my 98 does the same thing

  • my fiances '00 sounds very similar at idle, once warmed up...sounds like its only running on 2 or 3 cylinders...but its not
