SPOILER ALERT At least from seeing the anime, I disagree. I think deep down he's diabolically evil (he is Vlad Tepis after all...) but he's grown fond of his human companions, particularly of Integra Wingates Hellsing. I think he developed a grudging respect and admiration for the Hellsing family because of their accomplishment of defeating and binding him. Overall he's pretty evil.

Indeed. This is a REALLY good manga, crazy person. I just read volume 8 and it kicked ass. I can't believe it's only up to 3 there. I'd be pissed too considering it goes up to 10, I believe. It is SO obvious form the dream he has at the beginning of the manga where he's getting the snot punched out of him from Doctor vanHelsing. Just watch the Movies titled "Bram Stoker's Dracula" with Anthony Hopkins, Wynona Rider, and Keaneu Reeves in it and you'll understand.
