  • American Psycho will be always the peak of Christian Bale's film career.

  • hahaha! I remember back in the day when I used to try to memorize every lotion he had. So that I would be able to take a shower in perfection like he did.

  • theres no doubt that christian bale had the chief part in several good movies, but only in this one

he really is in his element, in no other film he was that convincing, he just fits perfect for this movie, edward norton the alternative protagonist would've been a complete fail compared to christian bale.. moreover its really sad how ridiculous the sequel is.. thats not what the prequel deserve !! beside read the book its amazing , although some scenes are different from the movie

  • I would love to live like this guy, accept for killing loads of people lol

  • And why do we take care of ourselves, master Patrick? So we might learn to fit in...

  • wats the song

  • He didn't have time to brush his teeth, he had to return some videotapes!

  • @Dorkus89Malorkus hahahah, good one

  • Please tell me that somebody knows how i can get the piano sound without the dialogue ?? I really need it ?

  • lmao... whaa? is this a HOW TO video?

  • average wall street broker.

  • I swear I am slowly using my humanity...

  • Bateman > Tyler Durden

  • The way he talks in this movie is fuckin genious,

  • this turn in my breakfast...

  • i was watching the movie

  • god i would do him anytime

  • book is better.

  • He's the villian gotham deserves, but not the one it deserves.

  • He forgot to brush his teeth. What a disgusting person.

  • @vaahtobileet stolen comment from me in the other video

  • @vaahtobileet laughed out loud

  • @vaahtobileet I still don't get the idea of brushing your teeth before breakfast.

  • I have to thank Christian bale for this movie, it inspirated me so hard that I lost 60 Pounds and now I'm in the best shape of my life.... thank's Christian you are my idol!! :)

  • @sgtsobel89 What did you do to lose 60 pounds and how long did it take you?

  • Kind of ironic how Bale is playing someone clearly with NPD when apparently in his real life it was claimed he was a victim of narcissistic parents.

  • One of the most fascinating films I have ever seen, I have to read the book.

  • @MajorGingex

I really can recommend it to you; it's even better than the film, as everybody always sais. But the film contributes to the book by picturing Bale in the person of Patrick Bateman.

  • The most disturbing part of the clip was the Les Miserables poster right above his toilet... I don't know, but personally I would not like to stand there doing my morning business and staring at Little Cosette.

  • @MisterAsherEthan always wondered what that poster was

  • @MisterAsherEthan Bateman is a "miserable", someone very poor in emotional equity.

  • who has time to do all that shit in the morning. Im lucky if i have time to brush my teeth before I'm out the door.

  • @BreadForButter Lol me to :)

  • Your3 the man Pat...

  • and that's how a beauty commercial is done

  • Bateman....Batman...hmm....

  • Watch The Rules Of Attraction, his brother is the main Character in that film: Sean Bateman. Although the two films are not linked, in the novels they are based on, they are linked. Plus, Sean Bateman has similar characteristics to his older brother Patrick Bateman. Watch it guys :)

  • I want to be this guy.

  • gay................!!!!!!!!

  • I could only think of the intro for Heavy Rain...

  • Man how can you be bothered. Love this movie

  • Is that Patrik Bateman or Patrik Batman?

  • @knarris Either case, Patrick, with ck.

  • @BaschOria :O

  • This video make me gay however i'm hetero !! Don't worrie i will stay hetero ^^

  • you can still hear the British accent when he says "Scrub". Sounds like "Scrab".

  • YESS!!! I got the 666th like!

Great movie btw. Christian Bale is an elite actor!!

  • Bateman DID kill people. all the murders untill the atm scene were real. after that it was his imagination.

the lawyer said he met paul but he also mistaken patrick bateman (they are all yuppie who don't give a damn about each other)

the real estate owner (said something has happened and he should go fast) she only cares about sales cleares up the mess from the missing person.

  • @ikhoudvanvlaai No, are you a moron? He didn't kill anyone. That was the thing! When he called his lawyer, he just thought he was making a joke, because the lawyer had been in London together with Paul Allen. But Patrick "thought" he killed Paul and made it up that he flew to London, but he actually did flew to London. And all the hookers he slept with did not end up dead... He was just a psycho pretending to kill them, because Patrick assistent found his diary/blog on his office...

  • @rsavemark in the book the kills are real. his own lawyer did not even know him, so the guy he ahd dinner with could easily be someone else. not all kills were drawed. as i said everything untill the ATM scene is real.

  • @ikhoudvanvlaai God damnit..

  • 0:12 David Beckham

  • @Aaminah84 Bateman never really killed anyone. That was all in his imagination. Pay attention to the end of the movie. Bateman was hallucinating all along.

  • @Uppercut416 Really? i've seen this film 8 times and still don't get it :s

  • @Uppercut416 hey, thanks for the info my friend.

Ooh! By the way, I haven't seen the movie yet....

  • dat fake accent

  • this alot of you miss the point of this movie its trying to make a point about consumerism and greed the author of this book lived this way and said it was the unhappiest time in his life - its meant to be a funny satirical movie not a way to live life.

  • After all of those anti-aging lotions and potions, he uses a tanning bad, the biggest cause of skin aging...

  • @DaArabianMan also he brings an Uzi to the gym :)

  • metrosexual noventero

  • he can hide his old gay.

  • this is my morning coffee...

  • 0:40 !!!!!

  • this movie is the oppisite of fight clube

  • This whole movie is all about Bateman wanting to be "loved". He does everything so he could be part of the community. Bateman turns into serial killer because he doesn't "exist".

Every person in this movie is too narsistic to even remember his name ( Paul Allen thought he was Marcus. Lawyer thought that Bateman was Davis etc...)

  • @frustratedgamerguy I thought Bateman never killed anyone so he's not a serial killer. He imagined all the murders.

  • @Imran500 Not all of them....

  • @Imran500 There's two ways to see the movie, one is that he was crazy all along an imagined the murders, the other is that he's growing increasingly mentally unstable as the movie goes and that he's actually killing all those people (on a increasingly larger and more frequent basis).

  • @frustratedgamerguy He actually fantasizes about killing people. He tries to "live" through materialism, to fit into the system, but it is a dead end. His psychotic episodes are due to the part of him that wants to escape all this bullshit, by doing thins that are obviously not socially acceptables. And in the end, it turns this isn't a solution either. "This is not an exit"

  • @frustratedgamerguy Actually it's about what goes on inside a human's mind, he doesn't actually kill any of those people, it's all imaginary as it shows in the end, he drew it in that book and became engulfed with it. In the end Patrick Bateman realises his mind is corrupt and he wanted his mental pain to be inflicted on others.

  • @frustratedgamerguy Oh please, as if Bret Easton Ellis would ever pen something so pathetic. The aspects you cited are merely examples of the intense conformity and superficiality of the characters.

  • what is the music on the background? chopin, bethoven, who?

  • @reblo111 John Cale.

  • Does he ever shave?

  • Jeeze, I wish I had the money to get all this work done.

  • christian bale is beautiful and this is comming from a hetrosexual male, maybe not when it comes to him

  • WHO'S THE MOOK THAT EDITED THIS?

  • i really wanted to see what a "faux-tortoiseshell toothbrush" looked like

  • GREAT acting, even better when you realize he actually has a British accent

  • I didnt see him to brush his teeth x)

  • "Something horrible is happening inside of me" sure, because obviously not outside after all the products he uses.

  • 2:13 is he not wearing anything?! :o

  • American Psycho wasn't scripted; someone secretly followed Christian Bale around with a camera for a couple of days.

  • @CrocodilusPontifex haha awesome theory....but then who is narrating this...in Christians voice......hmmm(:

  • @CrocodilusPontifex

Have you heard his proper accent?

  • @CrocodilusPontifex

haha this made me literally LOL

  • read the book this is like half of his mancare routine LOL

  • Thanks to this film I've started using aftershave and facial masks.

  • the themes in this are so similiar to fight club - both such good films...

  • what's he doin, yoga or pilates?

  • @surobakianinpo the last two are definite yoga poses.

  • Thumbs up if you just wanted to see his ass :D

  • I have never wanted to take care of myself more so since i saw Pitts body in Fight Club.

  • MASTERPIECE!!!!!!

  • I love the tone in his voice.

  • Nooooooo, I do this sort of grooming stuff in the morning...I'm gonna have to stop it RIGHT NOW ;-()

  • One of my favorite Character Studies, and this scene in particular is great on many different levels

  • When i see people comment like the two below me who have way too much time on their hands to even care what is in or out of a cell it reminds me on a poster I once saw that said: "Arguing on the internet is like running in the special Olympics; even if you win you're still retarded."

  • @drgn78 Me?

  • I'm Dexter Morgan.

  • why is he pissing in the sink anyway

  • stop at 0:33

Just look at that bulge in his tighty whities! XD So hawt~<3

  • Its Scott from the Kardashians!

  • this whole disturbing thing so that all the sins in this film will just tell you the way you should go, cause it shows how the bad way can be.... SO what the hell is the point of making this kind of films? Disney forever!!

  • @checkcheckchekchec sweetheart, welcome to reality. people you see that you may think are normal, accomplished, and caring people just because they look the part and have prestigous degrees are not. thats one of the main points of the movie, that noone would ever guess that he would do the things he did. Pat Bateman is your all-star sociopath that gets away with just about everything just because he fits the part. the real world is not your imaginary disney fairytail land.

  • @checkcheckchekchec Like all movies its supposed to entertain? The person who wrote this book is a genious. Its not a horror movie og some shitty splatter. Its a journey deep into the mind of a Nacissist, The I´d taking over. If you read some of the work Sigmund freud did the movie will make much more sense. Besides that it also reflects the society´s Ignorance towards his attempt at breaking loose. in short. The movie is fucking epic!

  • FUCK!!! I don't know what is the point of making this kind of films... DID ANYONE THINK ABOUT THAT BEFORE ME OR IS IT JUST ME AND EVERYBODY IS NOT CONCERNED OR JUST STUPID! Don't you guys think about the effect of this kind of movie/book on us? What is the point? It teaches us how to kill, and how to enjoy it? Does it have any negative psychological effect on us? IS Everyone so sure about himself or herself? OR mAYBE, all of you have a psychological barrier that kind of "bounces back"

  • @checkcheckchekchec it doesn't teach people to kill at all, thats quite clearly not the theme of the film, its about people not being all that they seem, and also possibly how a stressful, Wall street career and materialistic lifestyle can lead to an obsession with vices of various kinds, such as the drug use and of course the killing. Its ultimately an exploration into the mind and how it works

  • @checkcheckchekchec im sorry but people where killing each other stealing having feelings of lust greed hate waging war and all kinds of sick wrong things way before movies books music and video games have been around. its natural instincts. people will either grow up a decent human being or they wont with minimal effect from these influences as long as they are taken care of properly by parents

  • Nice guy!!!! lol

  • He really shoud watch where hes pissing, especially first thing in the morning.

  • great movie

  • Patrick Bateman is supposed to be a pathetic loser but I always thought he was cool.

  • @Vaughan8009

Patrick Batman is supposed to be cool, but he actually is a pathetic loser... Honestly, watch it again, he's being presented as this guy who's always doing the right thing, that people always compliment him and that he's in the height of fashion and poise. In reality, it turns out he is just another dreg: a cog in the machine. He was completely indistinguishable from the other parts.

  • Would you be gay for Patrick fucking Bateman?

  • if he cares about his skin so much, why does he use a tanning bed?

  • he is so flipping GORGEOUS!!!! and that body is sinful!!

  • @TheDowntown86 You should see what he did to it in the machinist.

  • what is the name of the classical piece thats playing

  • @Thehwchampionotw

wow, good ear. it's john cale, of course. X

  • If I was a chick or a faggot, I would definitely love to sleep with Bale

  • you fukin idiot you cut off the best part

  • @drgryz Yea I feel like that part alot in my life but at least im not sad or a serial killer

  • Wow, silly me. I had no idea he (Christian Bale) is actually British. When British men must do an American accent, they make it sound 10x more charming and sexy. Take Ed Westwick on Gossip Girl for example. Patrick Bateman's voice is half of the charm. ;)

  • Nice ass!!! <3

  • the torturing of the victims is much more violently in the book than in the film. like the chapter in wich he let´s a rat eat a living woman´s vagina......uhhhh

    read the book dudes :)

    !

  • and the proof that all those expensive body cleaning products work is....

  • Hotness, itself. The acting makes it even hotter. Bale, Bale, Bale... You shall never fail. lol

  • The book reads differently. Ah who gives a shit. Funny , though I know this movie gets into the thoughts of Patrick Batemon(serial killer) I somehow found this scene the most disturbing.

  • Best Comedy ever!!

  • Had to do a contemporary monologue for an audition at school today.... yeah. I made call backs

  • this movie is great in so many ways. most importantly for us young, professional men in our 20' and even 30's it shows how you should treat women and what priorities you need to put first (a stellar career). get yourself established and be a bro. then like patrick bateman you are going to have so many coming after you that you will have to beat them away with a stick

  • @rhumph4 it teaches you how to treat women? have you even seen the film? he kills one with a chainsaw, shoots another, decapitates the women he was having an affair with, and thinks about shooting his secretary with a nail gun. and that's just the movie. the book makes the film look like toy story.

  • @rhumph4 lololol hope your being sarcastic as the film is ......just in case your not....this film was directed by a woman haha

  • @rhumph4

    he is my role model

  • @kinetik44 same i want to be a wall street investment bank like him

  • @rhumph4 I can't believe 37 idiots thumbed up this stupid comment. You're a fucking superficial vapid parasite. Go jump in front of an 18 wheeler.

  • @Rushthatspeaks Calm down over there pal. Just because me and 38 all-stars do not comform to your sterotypical, worthless 9 to 5 job, 3 kids, and a wife, who probably cheats on you from what i could tell from your comment, by the time we are 27 does not make us an intracellular, dependent organism. When you grow a backbone maybe one day you will be half decent, but for now just go chug a gallon of bleach and try to enjoy your dull life.

  • @rhumph4

    Parasites aren't INTRAcellular dumbass. Fail.

  • @cvict6 oh but, we have an inferior blowing off some steam. Parasites are INTRAcellular, obligate organisms that cannot survive without of the support of a host to feed on just like a virus you duffus. Therefore, that does classify them as intracellular, i.e. tapeworms invading and living in the gi tract of their host. Do your research before you try to one up somebody that is obviously smarter than you are.

  • @rhumph4

"Do your research before you try to one up somebody that is obviously smarter than you are."

You might want to take your own advice and educate yourself moron. Intracellular specifically means within a cell. Parasites are EXTRAcellular. Viruses are technically only intracellular for a portion of their life cycle. Fail x2

  • @cvict6 Brainbuster, look up the life cycle of malaria. I am not going to be a tool and argue with you over an anonymous website. As you are going to see the majoirty of the reprodtive cycle is in the RBC (INTRAcellular).

  • @rhumph4 You said parasites are "intracellular organisms" in your obvious attempt to sound more intelligent than you actually are. The fact of the matter is they aren't. Most parasites, such as tapeworms which you specifically mentioned, spend their entire life cycle outside of the cell. That would make them by and large EXTRAcellular organisms. Now get back to stroking off to shitty obscure country music videos and thumb-upping your own cringe-worthy comments.

  • @rhumph4 Best comment I have read in a long time. You are one smart Youtuber.

  • @rhumph4 or a nail gun

  • @rhumph4 lmao right on so many levels

  • @rhumph4 or an axe in Bateman's case.

  • Females use a lot of bath products, but that doesn't make them crazy.

  • so in the end was he just dreaming it? was it real? or we take a guess??

  • @1mnmfan Well, the problem with the film in my opinion, is that all the details is getting "lost in translation". Reading the book makes it all much clearar.

He never did kill anyone, it was all in his head. He's name might not even be Patrick Bateman. He is continueously "mistaken" for Marcus Halberstam for example and the lawyer in the end says he's not patrick bateman (and that paul owen is alive).

Read the book is my advice, it's so much better :) So much of the book got lost in the film

  • @johanssonhenrik92 thanks ashole for ruinign it for the people who havnt seen it ;)

  • @johanssonhenrik92 i agree but you have to understand that the film was directed by a women the book tends to have scenes in which women are abused and mutilated. the director probally didn't like that so she took it out of the film. but the book is much better. i agree

  • I've got to say out of a lot of research on psychopaths that I think Bale's character is pretty inaccurate. He seem's more like a pedantic, OCD, competitive sort of person. I real psychopath holds in there feelings and when he's struggling over those cards he should be able to hold it in without a problem. When he kills as well he looks like he's getting hyped up and angry. A psychopath would do it as if it didn't mean anything more than doing the laundry. However this is a great film!

  • On the vege of frenzy: What don't you fucking understand! Get off my set! want me to trash your lights!

  • What a brilliant introduction to a character. It's creepy and funny all rolled into one

  • WTF?

  • "And though I can hide my old gay"

  • @Zeredek "cold gaze" *

  • Les Miserables poster-ref for those who read the book...

  • love the narration by bale!

  • man.. the music and scenes.. i can't stop watching this and feel mesmerized. it was a great movie

  • He's so hot.

  • What a hunk was Christian Bale in this movie.

  • the line "I am simply not there" was cut, plese fix and thank you for the post. :D

  • I AM SIMPLY NOT THERE was CUT FROM this, please fix that! :D

  • He can do a thousand...hes making a killing.

  • Watch my 'Christian Bale' vid. It features clips from this and the Machinist - set to music!

  • We can all learn by this.

take care of yourself and everyone will watch you with jealousy !

  • Does anyone know the name of the song thats playing ? its not on the soundtrack

  • @herdondoozer

The song is Monologue 1 by John Cale :)

  • I'd think he was so hot if even wasn't a complete a-hole. DEALBREAKER!

  • he forget to brush his teeth...
