  • Reminiscent of the Outer Limits episode "The Mutant"

  • what a great intro i loved it

  • it is like the x-men

  • A bit like Twilight Zone episode It's A Good Life

  • @ninelivecat Yes, the basic idea is the same (though it receives a more 'realistic' treatment here). This story originally featured in the BBC series OUT OF THE UNKNOWN four years earlier.

  • @StatesEdgeFilms Like a lot of BBC stuff at the time Out Of The Unknown had very low production values. It doesn't hold up very well today. A lot of it was lost It was throw away TV I doubt very much if the producers thought people would want to be watching it in 2011. You can clearly see that Journey To The unknown had a decent budget like the later Hammer House Of Horror series.

  • @ninelivecat I've a pretty rough VHS copy of the OUT OF version. And whilst I have to agree that in the technical area the JOURNEY TO version is vastly superior (healthy budget, colour, 35mm) I still think some sequences (mainly the filmed inserts where director Alan Bridges had more freedom) were handled better the first time round. Ultimately, I don't think it's a matter of the budget/equipment at your disposal but whether you can play to a particular mediums strengths.

  • poor kid

  • That was a sad one : (

  • Thanks, this is the first time I've seen this.
