GFX cards are pretty irrelevant anyways Emulator need massive amounts of CPU power and that does not guarantee it to run smoothly anyways cause of programing and what not.

30FPS is the standard run of the mill frame rate for console games anyway some exceptions also depends of what region PAL/NTSC

This Emulates a console so don't even have expectations on it to behave like a PC game or a ported console game as far as performance goes.

You know what's ironic? Wii U will have a graphics chip equivalent to Radeon HD 4970. SO in other words, all they needed is add Dolphin emulator and Wii U would be Wii, and Gamecube backwards compatible.

When i'm in a location where there is too much people, or too much environment like grass, trees and other things, the frames decrease to 15 or 10 FPS, and thats annoyng. Some solutions?

Although you should still be enough to run it alright, barely, if you can buy a 2gb ram stick and take it to a shop to fit it if you cant, at very most it should cost £20.

And download a programme called Ccleaner, it's brilliant, cleans up all your useless crap that you probably didn't even know you had!

@gerardsk8ordie Depends on GPU and the cache for the CPU. Also, mess with the settings. I got an Intel i7 920 first gen CPU with 2.6 GHz while the CPU virtualizes 8 cores (2threads per core). I got 12 GB of DDR3 RAM at 1333 MHz speed. This plus my GTS 250 OC graphics card at 1GB of dedicated mem allows me to run the emulator at the normal 30 FPS (60 FPS for some games). I think the bus speed between hardware should be of concern during emulation.

Twilight Princess works 100% in Dolphin, from start to finish. One reason this guy is getting performance issues is because hes running in OpenGL (most accurate but most demanding), while DX9 is the faster of the two.

@TheMazelink It may not run full speed, you seem to be on the edge a bit, but its always worth a shot, its really easy to uninstall if it doesnt work. Just make sure to download the latest version of dolphin it runs the smoothest.

@KingdomKeeper117 No you don't need any plug-ins, you can use your keyboard as a controller, but i suggest getting something like a SteelSeries dual joystick controller($20 at gamestop) it's for customary ps1/ps2/ps3 users , or a xbox 360 controller for the usual 360 users, If you play the Wii version, then you need a Wii mote, and a bluetooth adaptor/device in or attached to your pc, don't buy the cheap $5 dollar ones, the range is horrible.

By the way, you should educate yourself a bit on Emulator's for PC. If you have a high end PC and run for example this game on Dolphin, you could max out the settings and make the graphics 10x better than what the Wii can put out. So more like enhancing your gaming experience.

Many of my games run at full speed no hickups, but I'm considering the upgrade to a 965 or 1090T because I hear it's the extra cores are the difference I need to play more of Twilight Princess at 50/60 frames.

also it'd be nice to make 1080p fraps recordings while I play, I can only record at 720p with my 440... :-(

I've no processes other than a new copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64, idling at around 0-5% CPU usage, I'll hit Zelda:TP and bam, all 3 cores will jump to 70%

I've read 3rd cores can be used as dedicated cores for LLE Plugins, to take some load of the 2 primary cores.

It just doesn't make sense, there's no processes to kill.. :S

@narutoenis Short answer: yes. Just go into "Pad" and check the "Enable X360 Pad" option. I'm currently using the MotionJoy drivers for the PS3 controller, though. But the way it works should be about the same. The 360 and PS3 controllers are exactly the same, just about, save for the placement of the left stick and d-pad.
