@jose83449 I don't know for a fact that they do, but as far as I know .. any mic with a size 3.5 connector works with iphone/ipad/ipod. (I have an ipod 2nd Gen.. and any old earphone seems to work)

No, because the 8GB 3rd gen isn't a true 3rd gen. It's just a 2nd gen. If you want the Voice Control features and the faster processor as well as everything else the 3rd gen offers, you'll either have to get the 32GB or the 64GB model.

make sure its plugged in all the way and are you sure you have ipod touch 2g(curved metal back) the 1g one doesn't support mic in. Try resetting your ipod too. If all else fails that means you got a defected one
