True. To make it worse I stopped in with a couple of friends when they first opened. We were all former CBGB employees. Without knowing who we were, the young hipster sales clerk went on to tell us how he hung out at CBGB all the time and told us stories we knew were utter bullshit.
I wish a McDonalds or Starbucks opened there instead. That Varatos store represents so much of what CBGB was not.
For the record, the folks working there ARE NOT cool with people stopping in just to look around and feel the CBGB aura.
