Dicks had a sale for Columbus day and they was on clearance plus 75% off so I paid 1$ for a lot of rapala lures I haven't used them yet I been ocean fishing for stripers.
I love this lure! But what i dont understand is that how do you cast that in weeds and brush piles and not get snaged or retrieving with some grass stuck to it?
@rapala145 What the pros do is scan the whole area they're going to fish and they are aware of the bottom view. They will wind it correctly to avoid these stuff.
@weppythewepon For me this lure is best for when fish are ONLY in a chasing mood in other words they must be sitting near deeper waters and feeding on bait fish in or near the weedline/open water. In MN we have many kinds of lakes to fish so you get a lot of places to try it out. I caught Large mouth bass and white bass with this lure.
@TheVancouverMan well i ushal fish spring fed lakes that have a good drop off about 10ft from the bank. vary low cover no weed beds, big rocks, logs, exc. it has worked best for me in about 4ft of water but i thought it would be better in deeper water about 15-25ft so far nothing though.
@weppythewepon Usually a rattle trap is a bait used best around weed beds. Its a somewhat versatile bait but usally doesnt do to good around wood bcuz the hooks are so exposed. A lake with low amounts of cover is usually a lake where fish hang out on deeper cover or drop offs. I would recomend football jigs and deep diving crankbaits. Also you can try a carolina rig. For the little bit of cover you do have you should try a texas rigged soft plastic or a jig.
Bought it for €5 and i have it for a long time but i never fish with it. But when i do i dont catch a single fuck.

rapala145 1 year ago
@rapala145 cast in the weeds and rip it out thats when usally the strikes occur dont throw it into brush or wood it easily gets snagged there
