How is this the world championships? I've seen several drummers way better. I know several better. What's more, I'm actually better. Not by much granted, but i don't see how he's at a world championships, and im not. And before i receive hate comments, go check out Dylan Elise, and tell me this guy's better.

@Agatio230 Not saying whos best of them. But you cant say whos the best drummer/guitarist etc.. Feks, Jeff Loomis is not a huge legend like Iommi etc, but technical hes a hundred times better..

@MetalJuggler I do agree that you can't say whose the best, but when there's a large enough gap, you can say whose better. I think keyboard is the only instrument where there is an undisputed best in the world. And trumpet too technically, but Maynard's Ferguson's not alive...

@Agatio230 Why is everyone sayin Dylan Elise. He's slightly not as good but there both amazing and I understand ur opinion. I dont know of several drummerz. That play a variety like him to me to be technically better is who can play the most styles and be over average at of em.

@kunkushun1 This guy is not that good. My point is that this guy is NOT amazing. That's why i disagree. I know this is the internet so feel free to disbelieve me when i say this, but I AM BETTER than this guy. Dylan on the other hand is a god amongst drummers. And with Dylan, have you only listened to the solo that got him famous? As for styles, he's only playing variations on one style. Go watch some of the really good drum solo's on youtube and come back and tell me this guy is good

@kunkushun1 Ur right that dude does fuckin kick ass i saw 4 videos of his not all of em and I'll admitt I watched more of this dude and swtiched my opinion Dylan is slightly better lol. And I already thought I could play better than this guy but still thought he was amazing but Dylan is non-chaluantly good.

he is really struggling here. not too great at just plain old keepin the beat. His antic soloing goes out of time constantly. when he set the roland up to play the time you could really hear his weakness. Learn to keep time and make a real groove kid and you could be great.

hate to break up y'alls lil love fest but dems da facts. just try knodding along or tapping your foot to what he's doing. even a novice can hear what I am writing here. It can be fixed he just needs more time with a metronome

@Hansnen135135 I have. I am a multi-instrument percussionist. Poly cadence is still in time. Funny, I said groove and you tried to get sophisticated. Groove is playing in the pocket not on the beat. Musicians who understand the nuances of out time are way more advanced than this young fellow, his upside and potential is great, but understanding and feeling every "other" 64th note between ticks on a metronome takes specific discipline, he may soon do this, but I have not heard it yet.

Michael Shack: has a leading drum instruction institution in California

@CaptThrawn Whatever. Judges are paid to participate in a popularity contests. Maybe I am just not as musically savvy as they are, but Kolstad reminds me of a drum machine that doesn't keep EXACT time.

@guyplh Have you ever played on a V-Drum-Kit? It's damn hard to keep the beat with the doubelbass.You don't have any resistance,its a whole different feeling in opposite to a regular drum.I can play the drums, but i'm struggling damn hard on v-drums.

When I was in 8th grade I had groupies and I thought I was the great 'guy' on drums until I studied with one of the finest teachers in the world and he immediatley saw my weakness with keeping perfect time. I literally had to start over and learn with a metronome. Just playing along to recordings is not the same. The recording is keeping time! To be spot on perfect you must work out with a light metronome. It will change your perspective. drummers job 1 Time!
