i love it, i think its all good. the way people paint is their own perspective, i dont think shes ugly at all, thats the way he paints the picture, gzzz if we all painted it the same way it would be pretty boring!
I really enjoyed the mona lisa, your abstract image gave new layers her. While I liked the sound track, I wish I could have heard your original audio- I'm interested in what you had to say. Also, I was wondering if you video'd the man in the hat behind you??? looked pretty "jazzy" to me, I'd like to have seen it done. Thanks and keep up art!!
great vid but I wouldn't have written my name across the chest at the end there. bang in the centre of the painting almost. Up to the artist, but I couldnt do that.
oh god BRITNEY SPEARS! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING! her songs aren't that bad but... Ew.
if i was met her in real life, i'd take a look at her, insult her then barf all over her. but i'm not that stupid. *i'd get sued!* by the way nice panting *even tho i'm not the fondest of that style... great job.*
Well if I learn t anything from this vid was to draw my own interpretation of an image and then paint. I think your depiction of Mona Lisa is/was more real than the original. I'm sorry you burnt it.
the mona lisa is held in high regard largely because of the labour intensive 'sfumato' (meaning smoky) method that was used to paint it. the technique requires extensive and repetitive layering of highly translucent layers of paint, which avoids the otherwise near inevitable depiction of specific boundaries and instead softens the appearance of - for example - skin form. Da Vinci - a master of many trades was also a master of sfumato - a skill which entirely fulfills the term 'a labour of love'
i agree with you that the mona lisa is far from the most exciting painting and is somewhat overvalued, but disagree with you that it deserves to be burnt, because it is one of paintings by leonardo which alone makes it a valuable piece of history. I also think leonardo deserves some credit for the painting because of its amazing sfumato
Great idea. I recently finished my painting and hated it, so I spent 30 minutes ripping off the weaved cotton at two o'clock in the morning. I'm glad you don't find the Mona Lisa the most interesting painting. If anything, there is no such thing as a "masterpiece" because the new generation of artists will always defeat the previous generations.
I completely agree about the Mona Lisa and her extremely over rated beauty (yuck), but I really liked your painting.I also was compelled to not only comment but subscribe as well because you are the only other person I have ever heard of with the Cray- pas problem.... maybe there is a support group out there somewhere Cray-pas Anonymous lol. Take Care.
Damn I wish came to visit you sooner. An artist who likes Frida? It appears you have a bit of her style in your paintings. Angelina Jolie is one of my picks of beauties.
Well I could say that was a great piece that you created.... You are not lying I know that there were beautiful women at the time when Mona came on the seen but.. we only heard of Othello.... I visited your website and you are gifted I can tell you...
I remember seeing the Mona Lisa a few years ago, and felt quite deflated. Too much hype, and not enough emotive image. It's actually a lot smaller than most think too.
I agree with you that she's NOT the most beautiful woman, however I would say that most of the hype around this painting is because she's considered so enigmatic.
It is great! The only thing I don't like is the Signature in the neck!

I love it but I hate the huge signature in the moddile. Totally destroyed it for me. But otherwise fucking awesome.

Why'd you have to make her ugly?

Other than that, I really like it, and your painting process was interesting and enjoyable to watch. keep up the good work

but idk.

I agree with you she's certainly not the most beautiful ... not even particularly attractive to me either... there is no accounting for taste.
