  • Am watching all relevant videos i have a tax exam coming up and this could possibly come out so thanks

  • Cont.... The retail business must be a similar animal to the stock market. If you need to sell it, and you can`t sell it at £X then you MUST sell it at £X-Y !

Even the Giant retailers must give way if we ALL said, `F^*& You !

    It`s Do or Die !

  • It`s about time the people of the Uk said enough is enough. Barter. I`ve done it myself. I bought a shirt recently. The price was £25. I said, I`ll give you £20 for it. They ( a small family retailer ) replied that they`d let me have it for £22.50.I took it.

More recently I saw a shirt in Debenhams, £40.00. I told them I`d give them £33 for it.They wouldn`t budge.

    Continued.....

  • I just saw this item on the BBC world news, and I can't believe twenty percent on top of everything except food and kids clothes.. that's fucking crazy. Man, I'm glad I live in Canada. Sorry about your luck, England, have fun with all those Muslims building bombs next to you in their tiny flats.

  • * VAT in Latvia will be 22% (currently it is 21%); * VAT in Poland will be 23% (currently it is 22%); * VAT in United Kingdom will be 20% (currently it is 17.5%); * VAT in Portugal will be 23% (currently it is 21%); * VAT in Slovakia will be 20% (currently it is 19%); * VAT in Switzerland will be 8% (currently it is 7.6%).

  • We have 25% vat here in Sweden, the difference is, government money is used in services for the people......there are no homeless and standard of living is high. UK spends it,s money on wars and the housing is old.

  • @Kooritze

yh but we have 60million people living here. sweden population? around 10million. we have alot more people to look after.

  • @JoshRobertson142 ummmm what?

its the same thing mate. 10% on 10 people or 10% on 10 million people still gives back each the same comparatively speaking. less people needs less money! more people more!

  • @rupertshean

not always the case...we might have a higher % of teenagers in school not working or paying tax.

  • @Kooritze , wow your take on the world is brilliant, i only hope you get into a position of power one day, we would all be so much better off...............

  • What in gods name has happened to Britain.

  • lol. Plenty, and NONE of it good!

  • I would have been in favour of nu-Labour's VAT cut if they had actually cut spending for it, and it had been a longer term comittment and not just some temporary gimmick. Vat at 20%? FFS.....

  • Socialists are thieves and parasites. Poland has VAT at 22% (and they considered increasing it to 23% during the crisis, can you believe it?), the highest in Europe, and still is a very poor country comparing to Germany or UK. I don' t think that the whole political class is that dumb, I think they just don't care people get poorer while slave masters get richer. Nations need statesmen and leaders, not daft technocrats.

  • British Government is the Economy's cancer!

  • Keep piling it upon that "camel's" back.. let's see what happens.

  • VAT at 20%? Fine, I just won't buy anything anymore...

  • or the more traditional, but legally dubious route of "cash, you don't want an invoice, do you?"
