  • On the Doctor's tv show, they said that those 'shower pouf' sponges do nothing but grow more and more bacteria. I've quit using them since then.

  • before or after you use a body wash in the shower?

  • But...I am a little kid from europe...And My Face is dry and Flaky...And i dont know what to do!? i havent seen any of this prodructs in the stores!! probably cause i aint from uk or something. and i just dont know what to do...:( :(

  • @ztolkanek09 We're located in Canada and unfortunately I'm unsure of what items are available in your area. You would be best to have someone take a look at your skin face to face and help you choose some products. A gentle exfoliant designed for the face and a light moisturizer should help.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help!

  • "little bits of scrubbieness" - word fail.

  • Your facial expressions reminded me of Jennifer Love Hewett

  • Is it fine to take normal body wash and exfoliate your skin?

  • @Milola98 A normal body wash may not do the trick. You need to use a products that is specifically an exfoliant, like a scrub or loofagh glvoes

  • i have red dots on my legs ever since i was little. IT is bumpy. But I tried exfloiating, it minimizes it but it does not get rid of it. I cant wear shorts without having red freckles showing.

  • I don't think they are freckles. They might be something called Keratosis Pilaris.

  • What can i do to cover em? When it was the summer, alot of it was gone.

  • @cr8ziibby292

You can look at using a product for ingrown hairs specifically. Both Tend Skin and PFB are great options.

  • @cr8ziibby292 thats exactly the same thing with me!

  • @cr8ziibby292 Do some research on Keratosis Pilaris.

  • i just switched my face and body wash over to avon clearskin and i saw results imediately. i use lotion everyday twice a day and it wasnt helping but once i found the avon products my dry skin has vanished. Thanks!

  • Hi..So glad to see you replying and helping others with their problems.

I have a major problem and i dont know what to do.

I have huge ingrown hairs on my legs, its so bad ive tried exfoliating to remove the blackheads and some are beneath the surface of my skin that i cant do anything about it anymore. it itches when wearing trousers or when im asleep and its really getting to me. Not only are the bumps really big, you can also feel them..

Ive had this for about 7 years .....please help?

  • I would suggest giving the products PFB or Tend Skin a try. They're both designed for exactly that. They'll exfoliate and soothe the skin at a deeper level then a mechanical (scrubby) exfoliant will.

I really do hope that helps.

If it continues at such an extreme level you could try speaking to a dermatologist as well.

  • Youre a star..Thank You soo much!! x

  • My skin has been drying out a lot lately. Like around my nose,& my forehead. I don't know what to do & it isn't cute AT ALL! After i put on my foundation & powder and everything it looks so gross cus it's like dandruff & peeling on my face. Please help me! What should i do?

  • i feel the same way. i scrub my face and put lotion on every night but no matter what my face is like dry all over...if anyone replys with things to try PLEASE PLEASE let me know. thanks!

  • Hello, for both of you my very first thought is that the product you are using may not be great quality or the right ones for you. If you are only applying lotion every other night and are still feeling dry, it may be best to start applying it morning and night. If that still doesn't work, you may need to look at using something else.

  • I would suggest looking at the products you are using.

Make sure you're using a gentle (not soap) cleanser, and a gentle scrub. Apply a moisturizer every day and night and you should start to see a difference. If not, then again asses what it is you are using on your skin. I can always provide recommendations if you need them.

  • Im a guy and whenever i wax my legs, ingrowns form. what would be the best way to avoid this?

  • Make sure you exfoliate before you get waxed. Using those scrubby gloves from the drugstore is great option. There's also a product sold in spas called PFB, or another called Tend Skin. They topically exfoliate skin and are designed to lessen ingrown hairs.

  • i have bad dry flaky scaly itchy skin on my chest (not as bad is it sounds lol ) but what do i do? i've tried oils, lotions and creams, washes and nothing! can i use an exfoliating scrub even if its on my chest? i mean we're pretty sensitive there

  • You can use a scrub on your chest, absolutely. Make sure it's very gentle. Maybe start with one designed for the face. Let the product do the work, don't press too hard.

It could also be that the lotions you've used in the past just aren't well formulated or are full of fillers and irritants.

  • My Skin always feel dry and i use a lot of moisturizer but the Dermatologist and at the spas keep telling me I have oily skin.

I don't understand why does my face feel dry all the time .. if it is oily ? Don't know what to do with it !

  • There's a difference between dry and dehydrated. Dry is lacking oil, dehydrated is lacking water. It's extremely common to be oily but dehydrated. I would look for water based moisturizers. You need and can find one that will help, you may just need to switch lines. I hope that answers your question!

  • Thank you , yes it helps and now it makes sense ..

  • i have alot of ingrown hairs on my legs... will exfoliating really do the trick?

  • It absolutely should. Make sure to gently exfoliate BEFORE you do any hair removal on your legs. This should start to lessen the ingrown hairs.

  • my T sone and a teeny bit around my eyes get really dry i use an O.P.I. lotion about 2 times a day once wen i wake up and wen i go to sleep. i did teh tite test where u put teh lotion on ur face an let it sit for 5 minutes and if it gets tite its not rich anough and this stuff is rich! but i still get dry skin! its like dandruff on my face wen i scratch it!

  • Oh dear. You definitely need to be exfoliating. Use a gentle one. Nothing with nut shells in it. If the moisturizer you're using isn't working, then you need to switch. As far as I'm aware, OPI doesn't make a facial moisturizer. You'll want to get one specifically for the face and it must say "dry or dehydrated skin" on it. Let me know if you'd like some specific recommendations!

  • Thank you very much for the tips! My skin feels much better and it is really smooth. Thank you!

  • You are very welcome!

  • My SKin is Dry and It's Only on My face. It irritates me So Much. i keep on moisturizing and putting lotion on my face like 5 times a day and the flaky thing still comes back. i also wash my face everyday with soap while taking a shower. This has been going on for like 3 weeks. I hate it so Much.

  • First thing, switch from a soap to a cream/milk cleanser. Most soaps have the same pH as Mr. Clean and can be VERY hard on the skin. You need to start using a good exfoliant 2-3 times a week. Pick something with little beads in it (NOT crushed nuts or shells of any kind). If you need to re-apply cream 5 times a day, it means it's not working and you need to find something that does.

Be sure it's designed fr the face and is for dry or dehydrated skin.

Let me know if you have any questions.

  • My skin is so dry I always have to scratch my legs everyday like white bumps comes in and ting cuts I have made. I use body lotion and it did not work at all. :( But I`ll try THIS!

  • my skin is so dry. every single day, my skin starts getting flaky and dry. I have to put lotion on AT LEAST three times a day just so I can apply makeup without it looking flaky. It does it in summer, too. is there any way to get rid of it?

  • What are you exfoliating with? Make sure it isn't too aggressive, that can be stressful to the skin and cause it to dry out further. If you live in an extremely dry climate as well, that could affect it.

If over time nothing seems to work, there may be a different issue happening and it could be internal. At that point you may want to see a physician.

  • is it the same routine with skin that peels? my skin peels a lot for some reason and i dont feel it, especially on my arms and legs and my stomach/back. i tried exfoliating and moisturizing everyday and night, they're still coming back. is there another way ?

  • Make sure you're exfoliating when you shower. Use an exfoliating body product and as soon as you get out of the shower, apply a quality body moisturizer. If you do this 2-3 times a week, you should start to notice a difference.

  • seriously every freakin winter my skin get flaky and look like fish scale and it itches as hell. this happend for 3years a go and i still have it.:( i really fucking hate it. it hurtS as hell. any tips get rid of the flaky shit?
