The best there ever was. Lack of funds, forcing a premature transition to professional skating, obsolete rules, ridiculous "amateur" ethics, all these things meant she wasn't recognized as it. But she was.

Had she been marked properly in the short, the judges didn't save Anett , she would have made the poduim here ! I don't get the 5.6 for artistic impression in the long program at all !

Denise was ahead of her time. If school figures had been eliminated by 1980 Denise would have won Olympic gold. Had COP existed back in the day she would have rolled over the competition like a tank.

I will always believe Denise was the true 1980 Olympic Champion. Annett who?
