Dorothy's personality is actually based on that of Thatcher, its really Thatcher advising Hacker on what she would have done in his place.

As for Hacker, he based on a mixture of Ted Heath and Geoffrey Howe.

If Dorothy would be the PM, oh my God. Humphrey would possibily run to Oxford from now on. And I wonder what would happened to Britain?..... I mean after some 2000 years it would become good place to live in?

Smooth moves on Hacker's part. I don't see why it makes Humphrey uneasy.

I think I read a comment on another of these videos that Dorothy should be PM - she makes all the old men jump. So true.

@quadturbo4 That was the whole point of her character, and in part the show. To show Thatcher as the only competent person and laugh at the useless civil service.

Hacker could have really done something good if he applied Dorothy's suggestion and he would have done something for real, for once and then no one could say that he did nothing as PM. But no he just uses Dorothy's ideas to force others not to embarrass him. To Bad!
