  • 34 people like Justin Bieber

  • Ohh Nooooooo lol I am too tired to dance now. Just got home from work ^^T^^ Love you

  • fantastic

  • 34 people like Fergie

  • I also an instumentalist love this album, and yes more music for adults, especially life long musicians who played and wrote professionally

  • the most beautiful classical guitarist.

  • I used to play this fingerstyle too. But I got bored of it....

Now I play things like this with my toes.

  • Incredible talent! Thx Jesse for lifting my spirits with the sound of your guitar!

  • HOT Demn !!!!!!!!!!!!!! SUGOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIi

  • This Is one of my Fav. Latin Guitarist, The Prince of Rumba Flamenca, Jesse Cock.

  • I like so much that music

  • J'adore !

  • Обожаю!)))

  • Kindred spirits with Otmar Liebert, no doubt.

  • @elmaximoexponenteeee Since you brought it up, can you suggest some Spanish flamenco artists. I'd love to expose my students to this great music and to add it to the musical repertoire search engine project.

  • Canada's best flamenco player!

  • Fantasztikus zene! :D

  • Jesse cook you r a rockstar with acoustic guitar

  • Ahhh memories. Saw him in Victoria BC years ago. There were maybe 150 people. Very intimate.

  • We have set travel plans around seeing this group and Jesse.

Each and every show was spectacular!

  • How is it I am only now discovering Jesse Cook??? Who forgot to tell me about this man???? HE'S GOOD!!!

  • Wow, what a pile of cheese. To quote from above: monotous, droning, happless and talentless image conscious, shallow, frivolous and largely pointless array of wannabe stars in you face...

  • GOING TO SEE JESSE ON OCT 20TH! :D

  • @persaudmala where at ? i wanna go :D (hopefully its around the states)

  • I LIKE THIS TIPE OF MUSIC. VERY RELAXING.

  • Hell to the Yes!

  • did people miss-click on dislike ?

  • skin electrifying

  • have see jesse twice and have an autograaphed CD he signed for me at the chitauqua in bayfield, wisconsin...great guy and fabulous musician

  • a guitar is just another boring instrument then a guy like this picks it up and makes magic out of it, darn...wish I could play like that!

  • Didn't watch this for some months, and didn't play guitare for like one-two years.

It makes me want to play guitare again !

    :D

  • awsome..

  • wow i love this song and video

  • Oh, this is ok - but nothing really groundbreaking. Paco, John and Al as well as countless others have pushed this genre much, much further (if you want fast or far-out flamenco playing). I guess what is disappointing is Jessie's "cool" posturing and hey, he starts playing with a playing with a pick at 3:08- and not particularly cleanly either.

  • @kitloose your buds paco, john, and al can stay in SF! ...

  • "1958" - nope, they're not my "buds" at all, just a dissenting voice posting on Y.T. My "buds" are Joe Pass & Django and have nothing to do with this "smooth" nouveau flamenco

  • @kitloose But then if you want more the just all out speed...things such as melody and infectiousness, STICK WITH JESSE!!

I am a fan of the Trio but I find JM far scrappier then JC.....and take note JM and ADM both use picks EXCLUSIVELY.

  • wow - this is the shit. i love it

  • It's Ok !

  • Lebanon loves you!!!

  • i love how theres really no singing just MUSIC.

  • Ole!

  • My god....I'm just watching this on youtube and I'm already snapping my fingers along. I need to see this guy live!

  • 3:18

    <3

  • Брависсимо!!!!

  • I compare his talent to Paco de Lucía. Both are geniuses!

  • Mr. Cook, you are amazing, love your music

  • so he cant sing?

  • love from palestine to JESSE COOK <3

  • I have listened to this song by many guitarists and Jesse plays the dance of spring very well. His fingers glide like a bird.

  • he will be inspiration for my newborn son

  • I am American and I Like his music a lot...

  • yeah i am arabic girl

i love this man soo much

    awsoom!!!!!

  • ... adrenaline rush !...WowwwwwWWWwww !!!...

  • cant believe I am 63 and only just found Jesse Cook.....wow what a talent....love it...I am well impressed.....swaying and moving like I am seventeen again.....it is a revitalising and tantalising sound.......great stuff.....

  • agree much more and less crap Laurence michel0512

  • Oh sure, he can pick a guitar but, can he sing??? Ask yourself THAT question people! )))

  • @delora33 WHY? OF WHAT CONSEQUENCE IS THAT?

  • @smoothflamenco )))))Absolutely none. A friend of mine made fun of a musician I liked and he suggested I listen to this video. I could find nothing wrong with this artist (he's fantastic) and since I had to have the last word, made this remark. Sorry, I was just joshing my friend.

  • @delora33 @delora33 That's all right then;-) I'm very defensive of Jesse especially as I am an instrumental artist myself who is pretty much fed up with the pop scene and it's monotous, droning, happless and talentless image conscious, shallow, frivolous and largely pointless array of wannabe stars in you face etc. etc...... We want more instrumental music like this, music for adults, music for REAL people....LETS START A CRUSADE RIGHT NOW!!! :-)))

  • @smoothflamenco right, pop music is almost blasphemy. poor musicians with absolutely no talent at all get rich by doing NOTHING. THIS is music with soul, passion and a lot of talent!

  • @smoothflamenco yes, yes, .....yes.

  • @smoothflamenco YES!!!!

  • @smoothflamenco you can found a lot of music like this in Spain :D

  • @elmaximoexponenteeee A lot more in Canada and southern America these days I think you'll find.

  • @smoothflamenco Really? that's weird because this is the typical music in Spain, but anyway is cool :D

  • @smoothflamenco If you're saying the only good music is instrumental, you're daft. Just daft.

  • @moneyquickeasy No I didn't say that did I! However whilst on the subject, in my opinion 99% of vocal music around today is as I described above...of course you are free to disagree but at least read my comment accurately.

  • @smoothflamenco Well, I can interpret your comment anyway I want. But 99? I don't think so. I think you're just looking at one genre—POP. And it stands out the most because that is what is popular today, hence Pop. But that is only one aspect of music. There's tons more legit artists that make, honest and sincere music, and are in it for the music itself, and not for fame or money. Now granted, they aren't as popular as some of those pop acts because most people don't like real music.

  • @delora33 I would probably close this video very fast if someone starts to ruin this song with his voice..

  • @Hardshufflz ;)))))))))))) I agree.

  • when he pulls out the pick, it's all over!

  • everyone digging this video should also check on Manitas de Plata. Youtube it.

  • 28 people dont know how to play the guitar.

  • this is real shredding.

  • Absolutle

  • If you like Jesse's music, check out his facebook page: MUSICIAN JESSE COOK.

  • AMAZING !!!!! Thank You!

  • He sure does make it look easy but try a few chordes or runs man unreal guitarist. amazing upbeat and FEET MOVING.

  • 27 people won't live to see spring.

  • I do like it, but why he uses a pick????

  • I do like it, but why he uses a pick????

  • @guitarmusic07 yeah i´m asking me the same question .... the last part with the fast pick sounds bad

  • amazing...from bc,canada

  • Don't know how many times I have played this . Never ceases to invigorate me and make me dance.Sorry I misssed the show in valleyfield!Drat!

  • if you think this good go see him live my god spectacular!!!

  • j'adore

  • Whoa! Such talent! I first heard Jesse Cook on Napster and after two songs, I knew I had to buy his cds. I warn you that his music is addictive. You'll never tire of it.

  • Jesse Cook kicks ass!!

  • absolutely amazing.

  • he makes it look so easy lol

  • Exotic, lively, beautiful music - bravo! He plays and draws the gammit of emotions from listeners with his guitar. Amazing, soulful, wonderful!

  • WOW real talent muscians that still play their instruments not" yo yo wuddup ah ah"

  • wow this is my kind of music and as a music lover this really speaks to me

this is what i call real music very exotic!!!!!

  • Your fans in Arabian world love you Cook.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not the biggest Jesse Cook fan. I like some of his stuff (I really like this one), but there's a lot of other stuff by him that I don't care for. But whether you like his music or not, one thing is for certain: this man is one bad ass motherfucker of a guitarist!

  • Best guitar player ever

  • I bet he get's a lot of trim after the concert.

  • Such a talented individual.....I'm in awe of him!

  • Had been looking for crowded house' fall at your feet, discovered Jesse Cooks version which i love. Im now hooked on him and everything he does!!! What a talented gorgeous guy. Thank you again youtube for opening my eyes to another fab musician. x

  • I've been listening to Jesse Cook for years and am always astonished with his technique. Great, great music for parties to keep everyone upbeat and lively!!

  • He is the besssssssssssstt. He really has a gifted hands.

  • woowww! I'm excited ! Excellent !

  • excelente ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • 20 people like justin bieber and paris hilton

  • L love this song he are perfect musucien

    Bobie xoxo Bravo Jesse

  • i am amazed that people like this quasi stuff but not the real art of flamenco!

To learn flamenco would take a life but to learn this would take about FIVE minutes!

It is BLASPHEMY to play latino guitar whith a pick! This is an unwritten rule!

Well as all other new age bullshit music i have to give this performance a ZERO!

I agree whith the Flamenquistas!!!!! Better to look at a real Master like Sabicas than this quasi bullshit!

    Viva el Arte!

  • 18 people are not in touch with their souls...

  • i dont like @ 4:09

  • Amaaaaaazing !!!!

  • I'm no expert, but i know something about flamenco and because these guy uses similar harmony and scale doesn't mean it is so..

    Great guitar playing though !

It's nice to find people interested in Spanish music, good night from Madrid :)

  • I just wanna dance :-)

  • الععن قفده

  • Wow. This is terrible. What a shame that anyone with a nylon guitar can label them self "flamenco."

  • @Dzakovich000 you call him terrible.. lets see how you stand up to jesse i saw him play in Banff and he is pretty good.

there is an old saying that goes

If you dont have anything nice to say then dont say anything

  • @ACE88able That's the thing, Ace (can I call you Ace), he's not good. This video is tagged under "flamenco" and this is anything but flamenco. If he fails to meet a definition that he ardently labels himself as, he is, ergo, terrible.

And I don't know where you're from, but I live in a country that was founded on the principle of free speech. Basically, I can warn people not to watch a video that they may have mistakenly clicked on thinking that it would be interesting in some way.

  • @Dzakovich000

This song is not Flamenco by a long shot. But he is in fact a Flamenco player. A really amazing one too.

Look up 'JESSE COOK GYPSY SOUL'

You'll be impressed with how soulful he plays.

    Greetings from Iran

  • @saeidmomtahan I looked it up (unfortunately). There really wasn't a difference between that song and the one in this video except for a slight tempo and key change. Still not flamenco.

    Look up:

    Paco de Lucia

    Paco Pena

    Diego del Gastor

    Nino Ricardo

    Sabicas

    Moraito

Those people play real Flamenco and they are (individually) several orders of magnitude better than this hack.

  • @Dzakovich000

    'Unfortunately'LOL

That's like saying since Led Zeppelin is Rock and Roll, Bob Dylan isn't. There ARE different types of RR, same as with any other music genre, and that includes Flamenco.

Paco de Lucia is a legend, no doubt, but judging from the audience in the auditorium and their reaction, I don't think this guy would qualify as a 'Hack'. LOL

I'll add Emilio Benito to your list, he's one of my favorites.

  • @saeidmomtahan Your argument is moot. Bob Dylan and Led Zeppelin are both good. This guy isn't. People cheer for bad musicians all the time. Look at Yanni for example.

  • @Dzakovich000

    OK, now we're getting somewhere.

"Bob Dylan and Led Zeppelin are both good. This guy isn't"

So it's not a question of whether this guy is playing Flamenco then, it's the fact that you think he's not good.

  • @saeidmomtahan A little of both. It's not flamenco and it's not good.

  • @Dzakovich000 Doesn't matter if you or others don't like it. The people that do will listen no matter what your opinion is. I can't stand Bob Dylan, but if you like him, good for you. Why do you think there are so many genres? Not everyone likes the same thing. I don't understand why you feel the need to criticize what someone else likes as if someone cared what your opinion was.

  • @bhs112458 I'm not criticizing what people listen to, it's who they listen to. If people want to listen to Flamenco (as this video is wrongly tagged as) then by all means listen to Flamenco. However, this is not flamenco. If you want to hear good flamenco, look up any of the artists I previously listed.

There is no reason to like this guy. He's nowhere near as good as real flamenco guitarists and his songs all sound the same.

Originally, I posted to help people realize there's better music.

  • @bhs112458

Here's a nice quote to help you realize where fans of this guy stand:

"Youth ages, immaturity is outgrown, ignorance can be educated, drunkenness sobered, but stupid lasts forever"

If people can't learn about music and continue to support guitar-wankers like this guy, then there is truly no hope for our species...

  • @Dzakovich000 I didn't see your name on this list, nor anywhere in the flamenco history books stating your credit as a critic. Must be that you're the hack who sits around judging others gifts. Sorry just calling it like I see it.

  • @Dawnina77 Funny, Jesse's name isn't in the list of Flamenco History either. Dawnina, I'd try to help you, but it would be more satisfying for me to see you continue to waste money on this guy.

  • @Dzakovich000 How can something you'll never see actually be satisfying? Besides last time I checked youtube was free :)

  • @Dawnina77 Internet service, electricity, and in many cases, time cost money.

Did you really just ask "How can something you'll never see actually be satisfying?"

That's like asking "How can music be satisfying?" Many actions these days involve indirect contact. I know you'll continue to waste time on people like this.

Like I said before, "Youth ages, immaturity is outgrown, ignorance can be educated, drunkenness sobered, but stupid lasts forever."

  • @Dzakovich000 I'm really sorry to hear you'll be stupid forever :/

  • @Dawnina77 You've only strengthened my point further Dawnina.

  • @Dzakovich000 Stop using my screen name like you actually know me. You are clearly an arrogant person who thinks his opinion is fact, and chooses to push your views onto strangers who could care less. This song came out over a decade ago and it holds fond memories for me of a Grandmother who is passed. Instead of realizing people enjoy music on many levels you criticize. So please take your lame propaganda elsewhere and leave me be, because frankly Dzak you aren't worth anymore of my time :)

  • @Dawnina77 Hey Dawnina, nice to hear from you again! I actually forgot about this until you responded and got an email. I truly pity you if you had a Grandma whose life can be compared to a horrible song like this.

Anyways, I don't even know what your getting your panties in a bunch for.

I originally posted "Wow. This is terrible. What a shame that anyone with a nylon guitar can label them self "flamenco."

Not really sure what you're having trouble with. The guy's a fake. End of story.

  • He might be an awesome guitarist, but he looks so damn derp!

  • he IS using a pick, 0:50

  • Muy buen video.

    Un saludo.

  • i have the same guitar its a ibanez g5ece-am

  • i've seen him 2007May windspear centre edmonton, it was a great concert of him.

    Excellent guitar playing!

  • Amazing!

  • ...BREATH TAKING!!!...

  • WOW, I have just discovered yet another awesome musician on YouTube with a talent beyond words!!! This kind of music just evokes such passion and emotion and if you don't feel it , you must already be dead from the soul to the physical body.

  • @Carphunter1970

yes, he is quite beloved and appreciated across all of canada and beyond, phenomally talented, extremely talented - i have yet to see him...

  • Can anyone tell me what pick Jesse cook uses? Whats the thinkness ect. . .

  • @S1ay3R007 He doesn't use one, just holds his fingers like he's holding a pick and uses his nails.

  • @jamestaylor3820 he uses one, have a look at around 3:08......

  • Very attractiv music !

    I appreciate a lot

C'est fait pour danser, faire la fête, vibrer..., vivre et être heureux !

    I appreciate a lot

    τέλειααααα!!:) - perfect!!!

  • nice, he will be at lassomption Qc at october 15 2010

  • well... he is fantastic!!!!

  • amazing

  • I think youtube automatically puts some dislikes in a video , random amounts, small but random amounts...coz there couldnt have possibly been 17 coincidences wer 17 douchebags attempted retarded and random acts of random douchebaggery by clickiing the thumbs down on this clip.

  • @kekuchi

    well said mate!

  • @kekuchi Yeah, I hear you. I've been seeing quite a bit of this lately. But 17 thumbs down for this performance? I'm coming to the conclusion that there must be some folks so unhappy, and maybe envious of other's success that they can't help but express frustrated, baseless and often venomous criticism.

What if every viewer who couldn't keep up with Jesse Cook expressed criticism? Propitiously, 703 respondents appreciated the genius and hard work here.

  • WooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow! Great music and musician!!

  • Inspirational and Beautiful. I can't stop listening to all his outstanding songs!

  • Nice Latin, not Flamenco though.

To quote Lorca: "The great artists of Southern Spain, Gypsy or flamenco, singers dancers, musicians, know that emotion is impossible without the arrival of the duende. They might deceive people into thinking they can communicate the sense of duende without possessing it...but we only have to attend a little, and not be full of indifference, to discover the fraud, and chase off that clumsy artifice."

  • Just saw him for the first time at Rodney Strong Vineyards...he was awesome!

  • His compositions are just awesome.
