They raised this to 4 free planes in total which are: Albatros D.V/Va, Nieuport 28, SPAD XIII and Fokker D.VII. Payware planes will show up in the simulation even if you decide to not buy them.
Why buy them all anyway? Master a few.
Not that buggy to be honest, support forums are hardly an area to check to get a good opinion of this, but in my experience its been pretty solid for a new game.
What is it lacking? More depth is needed, especially with regards to a better single player campaign.
That's the word. Depth. RoF has a good foundation at it's core, but unfortunately needs more things like campaign or career mode. I haven't tried online yet, but it seems lacking as well.
Give it time and hopefully this RoF will be the WW1 flight sim many of us have been wanting.
I've been playing this game for weeks and I haven't noticed any serious bugs. Though it has been patched a few times since you left this comment. You also get FOUR planes with a purchase of the game now. Though they really should give you more.
I'll probably buy a few additional planes anyhow. The Sopwith camel and the Fokker Dr. I for sure. Maybe the SE5 as well

you can better stick to IL-2, since ROF is mostly a single player game, made by some fat russians, with a lame excuse for "multiplayer"

bugs won't be too much of a problem if you install all of the patches and i even think with one patch you get like two free planes i think

@Ironzealot7531
My friend has it and has said a lot of the old bug problems are gone
and their going to issue a new edition with more planes with a slightly higher price.
The main thing preventing me from buying it is the account server is down
way too often.
The new demo with MP support is next to impossible to get into
myself and many others have gone through several email accounts
trying to get it with no luck. When they fix their server/account issues
I'll be happy to buy.
