  • Hi, I have a sony KLV-46W550A (middle east model) and it has DLNA with video function but it cannot playback any video. I tried avi, wmv, mp4, mkv, mov, 3gp... nothing worked for me. :/

Hi, My KDL-40\w5 supports mepg and AVCHD format only. It doesn't support AVI, wmv, mp4, mkv, mov, 3gp.

Could you check the User's Guide of your KLV-46W550A? You might be able to find it at the Sony's web site.

    Cheers,

I couldn't find anything related to my model on Sony website so I just looked for sample clips on the internet and to my shock mpeg worked perfectly but I did not find any AVCHD samples to try, however, I'm sure it will work as well since ARW (sony RAW pictures) work fine.

    Thank you. :)

    You are welcome.

    Good luck!

It´s strongly linked to the used media server.

And we just talk about streaming content. Not the USB connection.

If media server used is capable of a lot of different media types you will succeed.(and of course check for DLNA 1.5 compliance.)

Bravia KDL-40EX40B with Wild Media or even Windows media player is running nearly 100% of all the stuff I had collecetd over the year in my local network. FLV, IFO, mov, raw pictures anything can work. Or try other serversoftware.

  • wow this expleans sooo much now i know how to do it!

    Thanks
