Needs a lot of work if you're going to cover such a legend of a song. The way you changed it didn't match the style it's supposed to be played in. I would suggest either tune your instruments, sort the timing out and slow the tempo - keep it a funk song or just drastically change the style... but...... yeah...

Can you guys hear each other cos your tempo is way out? I notice there aren't any monitors. Work on your tightness as a whole band. Being good individually doesnt help if you're playing in any band.

And yes, dostoyevskyfan is right that the guitars shouldn't be playing the same chords. Guitarworks and licks are very prominent in funk music and you guys need to work on that. Above all, practise tuning up before every jam, gig or practice.

Here's how you make this version much better- the guitar players should NEVER be playing the same chord... NEVER. One needs to stick to the lick and the other should stick to the chord... just like AWB. The whole lead section goes without the cool lick while they both play the same chord- and the groove that we all love gets lost. If you changed JUST THAT, I bet it would sound 10 times better. It would still need work, but that is something you can do today to make the song better.
