The closet door remains opened and she sees only the stuff that is, well... usually there. In her heart, even though shes a child, she wishes to trade them all if it just meant bringing back "Kitty". She closes the door once again. She still has her hopes though. "Boo!" she yells again as she opened the door again and recovered her smile. Still no kitty. "Kitty?" she asks in a innocent way and the whole scenes fades away in the darkness of her room.
Sully closes the door while looking at the cute and sweet little girl he has to give up as if he was a parent. He closes the door behind him while remembering all the memories and things they have gone through. Boo quickly stands up from her bed and runs in that funny way as if stumbling. She opens the closet door, her face with a spark and full of brightness. She opens it full of hopes and wishes for Sully to be there like he always was there. She screams "Boo!" and sees nothing...
Imagine like someone runs with his mum when his 3 then 5 then 7 then 10 then 13 then 15 then at age 17 without his mum and at age 20 he runs and cries D'X D': )': |': (': :'D
What makes it even more adorable for me is that my little sister looked exactly like Boo <3 Everytime I hear this I think of the two of us watching it-- her always wearing a large pink shirt and me putting her hair in pigtails... We always cried at this part
@0doughnut It is!!! But it'll be a prequel, about how Mike and Sully met in college and they used to be 'enemies' It must be funny! And we'll know how they became BFF ^^
Would anyone happen to know where I could get the piano sheet music for this? Preferably free but it's not too important if it isn't :) this piece is so beautiful, simple but extreeemely emotional - I absolutely love it :')
I always watch this movie for this particular song but it's so sad. I'm almost at tears ever time, especially when Boo opens the door and sadly says "Kitty?" when Sulley's not there.
I could literally listen to this song on repeat for the rest of my life and I would still love it every time. I want randy newman to make a ten minute score track of Boo's theme. Seriously not appreciated as much as it should be.
As a kid, when Sully scared Boo, and he went over to her to try to comfort her when she was crying, it made me cry :'( I hated Waternoose from that moment on because of him making Sully do that stupid scare demonstration! And as well when Boo goes "Kitty" and then Sully says "Kitty has to go". It brought so many tears! :'( I love the tune from 1:17, and how they are used all over in Monsters Inc.
Does anyone have something like piano sheets for this? :( I would loooove to play this, but I'm quite bad at listening and find out the right notes :/
This theme is so sweet, nice and unbelievable emotional... i love it so much.
I just rewatched the movie. Every time this song (starting from 1:16) played, even when the scene was far from being sad, I couldn't help but cry. It's a very touching theme.
@psalmnineteen Oh my gosh, I was just thinking "what does this remind me of", and it DOES sound Elmer Bernstein-esque. I was watching Mockingbird the other day and thought of the Monsters Inc soundtrack but didn't understand the correlation... You're so right!
Its funny, but real touching. around 1:17 I remember this theme always because I heard it again in Toy Story 3 when Andy says to the toys, "Thanks, guys". Nailed it on the head, Randy Newman you have my thanks for making such incredible connections between your works with Pixar to capture those delicate emotions of leaving a friend behind thinking youll never see him or her again. Thank you.
actually they are gonna release it a little earlier then that, since disney doesnt want the film to compete with the stupid twilight movie thats gonna come out that year.
Toy Story III is 100% masterpiece, but the series should stop there. Please make Monster Inc II, Pete. I'm sure the whole world has been waiting for years now.
I'm rather surprised on how many people put Monsters Inc. in the bottom 3 of nearly EVERY top Pixar list. Definitely a classic that deserves a spot in at least the top 5.
@OracleOfSyrinx I hear ya, but then other Pixar films would have to be down there, and we'd all disagree then, too. Pixar's works are too perfect to be ranked, in my opinion. We all have our favorites, (mine being WALL-E...or Toy Story 2) but to place them in a definitive list is...impossible.
When I first heard this at about 10 years old, it made me cry. More so because it reminded me of my dog I had just lost a while before, than the movie itself. Well, about 8 years later I woke up to it playing in the room next to mine- and it just tore me up... It just reminded me of a girl I used to love (and was really hurt by) and how she would call her little sister 'Boo' after the character in the movie... It's beautiful music, but I can't help but be reminded of sad things when I hear it..
The Part that really makes me cry is when "Kitty" Closes the door after saying goodbye ...and she opens the door (Thinking he's still there) and says "Boo" ...and he's not there...
From 3:04 till the end, is when he says goodbye to Boo. So sad, it gets me everytime. And it just couldn't end like that, there has to be a part 2. Apparently there might be one for 2012 or 13. This is a great score. <3
From 1:02 till the end makes me really sad. It reminds me of singing in the Candlelight Processional in EPCOT for my last time in 2009. Walking backstage and taking the robes off and changing was sad. The hard part was saying good bye to all the new friends you just made, knowing you wont see them again. Thats what the music reminds me of.
monster inc just ended, and i got teary eyed again. the end makes me sad every time, i remember when this came out and i was 6, i cried a lot and i still do.
Such a touching song...I wouldn't have monsters Inc. in any other way and wished they made a sequel while at the same time and glad they didn't because I'm worried a sequel may ruin this movie so I'm both glad and not happy about it but it's okay. ^.^ That's why we have Fanfiction! XD
i watched this yesterday, made my cry.can you believe the movie is so old but this is my first time seeing it?!
