This music is so 1970's American!!! Anyone else think that?? I remember at the start camera rises up over the golf courses then a low helicopter flight over the courses!!

best theme tune ever and i don't even play golf!! why oh why the Beeb never use it is a mystery, and when they do they cut it short. BBC producers if you come here, get his theme back. this theme playing and the camera sweeping the courses looks the dogs Bollox IMO, bring it back!!

@Rho1963 Was just thinking the same thing. I watched hours and hours of BBC golf in the 70s and 80s, both live and then later on VHS - over and over. Talk about misspent youth - and this music can quite properly be called the soundtrack to it

Can't disagree withtakharov I'm afraid, unfortunately the BBC seem to be in the process of abandoning golf to sky. They have about 5 tournaments left & some are shared

I am continually amazed that BBC Sport in it's infinite wisdom or it's desire to appear trendy has ditched so many classic sporting themes which instantaneously connected the viewer with what was about to come.

Most of the new themes are utterly awful.

sadly the beeb are down to 3 or 4 golf events this year. Peter Allis himself has referred to'the BBCs slow strangulation of sport on its schedule'.

I've been a golf fan since I was knee-high. This evokes great memories. I just wish the BBC would do more golf coverage. Sky do a pretty good job, and their programmes are well done. However, the BBC has cut this music down a bit and their graphics aren't bad. Anyway, this music reminds me next week is the biggie, THE Open Championship. I shall be watching if my little 3 year old daughter will let me (although she's pretty nifty with her Mothercare golf kit)!

if you try TVarc, tvcream, etc you will find this theme as an MP3 clip. You can then bluetooth it too your relatives mobile (if hes got bluetooth)

Yes. This is sports theme tunes at its best. The theme tune here is very rarely, if ever, found on tv theme compilations at all. It exists on a 7" vinyl but again is very rare to find, although I have managed to find 2 copies of it for myself!
