  • My dream is an egg. Inside the egg are a pair of sweet headphones and a comfy chair. The inner wall of the egg is covered with modules. I would have a hard time leaving.

  • Sounds so good.

  • ok I want one... for my guitar ...

  • HOLY FUK CORDS! jk lol

  • This is the kind of synth you buy when you don't need a car or house. Because they're big enough to live in and shake the floor enough to get you where you need to go.

  • great work good patching !!!

  • dude, u have way too much money! how i wish i was you!

  • Wow wowo wow! Me like :D

  • Great machine!!!! Vst maybe have a good sound,But it's only a copy .then this kind of machine is always the mother. Of coarse with all my respect for all the vst products. Neuronaluniverse.

  • real synth rulezzzz , f..k vst instruments

  • superbe, sounds so pretty, i like the multiple layering like this reverb, inspiring!

  • omyfucking god

  • Pretty mental stuff

  • reminds a bit of TVOD by the Normal. Great sounds

  • good stuff :)

  • 私もMOOGを使っています。

    memory moogですけどね!

  • you look like an old fashion switch board operator

  • i want one.

  • hi, i just bought this mega synth. but i have a problem ! i can´t find the "on" button?! please help me ! i´m serious i paid 40000$ for it! so please help me.

  • @reykjavikc 40000$ cool, well add 5000$ to buy the "on button" (lol) or send a pic

  • @reykjavikc holy fuck hahahahahah

  • @reykjavikc you are such a retard haha

  • @reykjavikc y in gods name wud you buy such a thing for $40000? cause you cud get some vst plugins for so much cheaper like $500 and maybe even do a better job on making music than this old massive thing.

  • @IshProduction Cos he has terminal gear lust!

  • @IshProduction I admire your logic, but it's obvious you've never played a large analog modular synth. You can get alot more done with VSTs on a budget, but it will still not sound like an old Moog modular.

  • @reykjavikc What about RTFM

  • @reykjavikc Just wind it up with a key! :-)

  • @reykjavikc Do you know how to work it at least? I'm assuming that after 11 months you have found the "on" button I hope! How are the sounds you're getting from it, and where the hell did you find it!

  • @reykjavikc RTFM ?

  • This isn't my style, but is there really a need for such big modular systems these days?

  • Ho man do I feel dizzyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

  • that's one funky telephone switchboard!

"Please hold while I connect you with a Moog bassline through ma Bode"

  • sounds like Erasurrrr

  • @mpresev

as you say it... that's clearly the voice of Vince Clarrrrk.

  • FAVOURITE + 5*****

  • I've had dreams with those machines in them.

  • As good as I have ever heard

  • I lol'd hard.

  • @Terryzxx I'd have no need of some boring broad going on about top 40 music shes into if i had a moog modular system

  • Don't have enough room for real producing then buddy ;)

  • The filter sounds so cool

  • wow, u lucky basterd!! if u want 60,000 in ur pocket give me a call

  • the 909 is missing !!! lol

  • incredible

  • too many wires I say!

  • that's the beauty of it

  • I agree

  • Hmm...It reminds me about JMJarre Equinoxe 7

  • damn its complicated ehe

  • ***WOW***

Give me a call if you want to sell these lovely machines =;o))

  • analogue synths are the best form of musical expression ever

  • this is so true, the only problem is the lack of polyphony for the money you have to spend to get one!

  • it's not all about polyphony.. altough polyphony would be fine on a modular system.

  • And the true masters of the Moog Modular were Tangerine Dream.

  • Very nice! May Dr. Moog be resting well where ever his soul is.

  • Awesome sequence

  • I want this!!

  • did anyone play these live? what a pain to lug around, but would sound awesome live

  • Yes and they still do! Look for videos of Redshift on Youtube and you will see the big Moog modular system in use at concerts.

  • Also Alessandro Cortini from Nine Inch Nails was using Modular at concerts :)

Search YT for their live videos.

  • i love nine inch nails! from the videos ive seen they use normal sized synths, but i havnt seen all of them.

  • moog....modular....lucky!

  • you're probably the happiest guy on earth

  • reminds me of old computer game muzik!

  • I dream of wires

  • why the hell would you waste your money on such an elaborate syntheiszer when you can get a digital one like a korg..?

  • Good taste, and ineffable elegance..

  • I still dream with one of this monster...But I have no enough money to buy one.

  • you can do a hell of a lot more with analgue modular systems, these arent just about playing notes, they make all sorts of sounds

  • Analog kicks the shit out of digital synths when it comes to warm, punch and fatness. No virus or korg can emulate the full capabilities of an analog modular like this beast.

  • But it sort of sounds like shit and seems really complicated

  • Modulars have alot of capabilities, this demo is the tip of the iceberg. digital synths can sound amazing too, i just think analog sounds punchier.

  • fair enough, considering this is the real deal. how much power do these things consume?!

  • Beats me...Something better to wonder is how heavy is it and how much space does it take. lol

  • heavy, uses much space an if it goes wrong: and yet the physicality is everything; if you are sick and tired of staring a a monitor (at the emulation); of course, there is always the suitcase Sunthi A by Ems, notoriously unreliable. or suitcase versions of the A 100?? That might be better.

  • Because the sounds you get from one of these rape any digital synthesizer, then discard them in an abandoned dumpster.

  • @plungerdrum why?

  • @plungerdrum I'll be hiding behind the fence and grab them when the discarder walks away!

  • @plungerdrum The only problem is that 99% of modular owners never make music; they write odd sounding melodies like the one in this video and most people don't care to listen to it.

  • @TomZentra I rather think 99% of modular owners that "make music" with it don't post their videos on youtube operating their maschines. But of course there is a lot of music out there with modulars in it. Beside that: There is no need to write "normal music" with a modular. You just can spend hours getting lost into sound exploration, creating new patches, fixing modules and it's a great relaxing thing to do after a hard day of work. ;)

  • @TomZentra - Point well taken ...... It makes for an amazing electronic toy, but their application is problematic, and rare ...

I would point to Alessandro Cortini, playing with Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails, as an example of a synthesist who uses modulars to enhance textures in modern rock music - And their use in support of strong bass lines works across a number of rock genres ..... Sometimes you can barely notice them, but they are there ..... Pain in the arse to program, though ....

  • Oh crap youtube already controls my life,

If I start looking at MODULAR vids oh my...

I will be 70 years old before I finish!!!

I love synths, but I have to step away from the

    computer

  • Hell yeah. It does look hard. X_x;

  • Haha, sweet!

  • great sounds!

  • fuuuuck, it looks hard :O

  • i'm doing a project on this machine. thanks for the vid

  • Hello , I've posted the video on switchedonsynthesizer.blogspot dotcom.

  • HI Thalassa 77 , thanks for the post , it's fine .

I'll look to this blog with a great interest

  • The sequencers 960 are moog?

    or are Dotcom clones?

  • the 960's are the real Moog ones

  • @Kernelproject Funny thing is that almost all modular synth videos play sequences, it's as if keyboards didn't exist. OTOH all Minimoog videos have people using that weired thing... what's called again? Oh yes, keyboard...

  • Are there any sources you would recommend to learn how to use modular synthesizers?

  • quality :-)

  • Got crabs?

  • ???? what do you mean ?

  • hahaha i think he might be referring to the dense amount of cables as pubic hair.

  • freak....up?

  • thats alot of patch leads dude

  • You know it took me a week to figure out how to use my MMT-8 when I first got it. I can't imagine wrapping my head around something like this but would kill for the ability to do so. Great post...

  • hahahhahaha. this thing is huuuuuuuuge!

  • DAMNNNNNNNNNNN that shit is complex!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can't express myself in simple text. This is great. I really do want a Modular system.

  • apart from the s&h style warblings this is a cool demo sequence, cause bassline seems to stretch to 4 measures, rather than the "stock" 1 measure 8 note jobs that most people put up.

    well done! :-D

  • The grandfather of synths,MOOG MODULAR its a really unsurpassed monster of crazy sounds! If you can,Try to listen some bass frequencies by that spacecraft main controls and you will have an heartquake!I adore this kind of sequencing!

  • Thank god they pack all that sound into shit like emx and kaosillators to avoid that cluster-fuck, but that is some kool shit.

  • emx and the kaosillator sound like toys next to a moog. not saying they dont have their place, but what you save in space you sacrifice in sound. my friend has a emx, i have an em-1 and a Micromoog and if you play them side by side the Moog wins every time

  • Nice work.

  • such a nice piece of machinery... guess i´ll have to settle with my nord modular :S

  • your machine is AMAZING!!!!

  • this must have cost a shit load!

  • super kewl, major props man

    old-school moogs rock

    great sequencing, too

  • This is amazing!!!

  • Nice sequencing!

    Domo arigato!

  • This is awesome stuff.

  • wow, amazing. I have now seen a real moog modular on a video screen. I would love to see or own one in Real Life.

Very good video, 5 stars =)

  • I just read the comment about your system being form 1969. Now I'm even more amazed!!! The closest I'd ever be able to get is through a video screen, lol.

  • Wow, this is great! I was hoping to see a real moog in action. I have the plug in which I must say sounds great. Some will attack, that, but I'm sure it sounds good and I have good ears. I don't care about little differences either... But my big point is that I love seeing a real moog in front of my eyes. I have a lot of respect for that. That must be a lot of fun to do and must have taken you a long time to learn. Also I'm sure it's more expensive etc. Congrats!

  • Super cool! Nice sound. I first became interested in synthe sound from Iaso Tomita and W. Carlos. What was really great was the pictures on the back of the albums showing the tons of equipment that was needed to create the sounds!

  • To my opinion Tomita is a master of the Moog !!

I 've learned a lot from him about sound and music .

  • hell yea tomita rules

  • omg a real moog modular!!!! where did u get that from?????? and what system is that? looks like some system 10 in a row....

  • this is a "3P" factory model from 1969 + sequencer cabinet option B + bode frequency shifter +952 keyboard + ribbon + S&H + X-Y + Drum + pedals.

bought in England many years ago. see it on my site

  • Hi , thanks for your comments guys , and yes this is a real moog Mr Juno6 , some new vids are coming soon

  • Is this a real Moog? I can´t differentiate from dotcoms, club of knobs, etc...

  • great stuff

  • wow!

  • Excellent OG !!! Bonne petite séquence !!!! Avec un bon petit synthé comme on aime ;-)

  • Moog rules !

    Super OG !
